On October 16, 2024, Sports Chosun reported that Gyeongseong Creature actress Han So-hee got embroiled in an online bullying controversy. The actress was accused of operating a fake Instagram account, @catsaretheavengers, for spewing hate comments against the Reply 1988 actress, Lee Hyeri.

Earlier, in March 2024, both actresses were embroiled in a dating scandal involving Ryu Jun-yeol. Reportedly, the two actresses got into an online spat after pictures of Han So-hee vacationing with Ryu Jun-yeol in Hawaii went viral. However, both actresses apologized for their reactions.

Meanwhile, Sports Chosun reported that Queen Woo actress Jeon Jong-seo, a close friend of Han So-hee, was reportedly following the Instagram account @catsaretheavengers. Notably, Jeon Jong Seo follows 19 accounts, including the Gyeongseong Creature actress' profile.

The news went viral on the Korean online forum TheQoo, where netizens speculated that the burner Instagram account could have been Han So-hee's as Jeon Jong-seo also follows it. Netizens noted that the profile picture of the @catsaretheavengers account was once uploaded by the Gyeongseong Creature actress on her Instagram, fuelling further speculations.

Meanwhile, Jeon Jong-seo's agency, ANDMARK, stated that they are checking with the artist to verify the claims as it is her private matter. However, the Gyeongseong Creature actress' agency, 9ato Entertainment, denied any role in her posting hateful remarks on social media.

"The SNS account exposed by the media is not Han So Hee’s. We will take full legal responsibility if this is proven false. Additionally, we ask that you refrain from speculating without verified facts," 9ato Entertainment's statement read.

More about Han So-hee and Lee Hyeri's alleged beef over the dating scandal with Ryu Jun-yeol

South Korean actresses Han So-hee (known for Gyeongseong Creature) and Lee Hyeri (known for Reply 1988) have found themselves at the center of an unexpected controversy over rumors surrounding actor Ryu Jun-yeol.

It all began in early March when gossip columns and online communities buzzed with speculation that Ryu Jun-yeol, best known for his breakout role in Reply 1988, was dating the Gyeongseong Creature actress. The rumors ignited a storm, as Ryu Jun-yeol had been publicly linked to Lee Hyeri since 2017, with many fans viewing them as one of South Korea’s few high-profile celebrity couples.

However, things took a turn when pictures of the Gyeongseong Creature actress and Ryu Jun-yeol vacationing together in Hawaii surfaced online. Both actors' management agencies confirmed their dating news. However, the controversy wasn't quelled as netizens lashed out at Han So-hee for a "transit love affair" with Ryu Jun-yeol while he was allegedly dating Hyeri.

On March 24, 2024, Ryu Jun-yeol's agency announced that he had broken up with the Gyeongseong Creature actress due to the ongoing controversy. Following this, Hyeri issued an apology letter on Instagram for her "impulsive" reaction to Ryu Jun-yeol's dating news.

"Last November, the news was released that my eight-year relationship came to an end.[...] I apologize once again for causing harm with my impulsive emotions," she wrote.
"Over the past few days, I didn’t explain the reason for my actions because I thought that our conversations were overly personal, and it would only increase fatigue [to the public]. If this caused confusion for anyone, I am also sorry for that."

NewsBytes reported that on March 29, 2024, Han So-hee apologized for her behavior and that she regretted her action.

In other news, Gyeongseong Creature season 2, starring Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee, was aired on Netflix on September 27, 2024.

Furthermore, Jeon Jong-seo's Queen Woo was aired on TVING in two parts consisting of 8 episodes. Lee Hyeri's Reply 1988, which also stars Ryu Jun-yeol, is available on both Netflix and Viki.
