South Korean actors Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min are set to lead the upcoming K-drama Love Next Door. The drama's double-entendre title translates to Eomma Chingu Namja, or simply EomChinA, which has generated a buzz among fans.
In the Korean language "EomChinA" is an acronym for "eommachinguui adeul" (엄마친구의 아들) which translates as "son of a mother's friend" in English. The word is used as a formal Korean satirical expression for someone who is both academically and visually gifted.
In the upcoming tvn romantic-comedy drama, Love Next Door, Jung Hae-in plays Jung So-min's "EomChinA". His character, Choi Seung-hyo, is a successful and awarded architect who is exceptionally intelligent and good at everything.
Jung So-min portrays the astute and perceptive Bae Seok-ryu, who works for a large corporation and was a standout student in high school. However, despite being a bright individual, her mom often compares her to Choi Seung-hyo, which leads to the drama title and central plot.
