When was BTS' last world tour? K-Pop group’s single tour timeline explored

BTS ranks alongside the most popular K-Pop groups in the world. The K-Pop idols are credited, along with other agents, for propagating the Korean Wave—the interest in Korean pop culture from around the world. The group, which consists of Jungkook, RM, Suga, V, Jin, Jhope, and Jimin, boasts thousands of fans worldwide.

Their rise to stardom can be attributed to their catchy songs, impressive performances, and organic bond with their fans. The K-Pop group has gone on tours and has other popular musical acts. BTS’ last world tour was the Love Yourself World Tour of 2019. The group has performed in five concert tours, four joint tours, and six fan meeting tours, amongst others, since their debut in 2013.


BTS single world tours and timelines

The popular K-Pop boy group made their debut in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. They released their debut single album, 2 Cool 4 Skool on June 12, 2013, followed by their first Extended Play, O!RUL8,2? (Oh! Are you late, too?), in September of the same year.

Riding on the success of their previous albums, they released a second EP, Skool Luv Affair and Dark & Wild album in February 2014 and August 2014, respectively. They set off on their first tour, The Red Bullet Tour, on October 17, 2014, based on their already-released albums. The tour spanned selected countries in the Asian, Australian, North American and South American continents. They had 22 shows, over 80,000 attendees, and ended on August 29, 2015.

The K-Pop idols released their first Japanese studio album, Wake Up, in December 2014. Amid their Red Bullet Tour, the group embarked on their first Japan tour titled Wake Up: Open Your Eyes Japan Tour, based on their album of the same name. It was held from February 10, 2015, to February 9, 2015 and consisted of 6 shows in Chiba, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka, and featured over 25,000 attendees.

BTS released their third EP, The Most Beautiful Moments in Life, Pt.1, in April 2015. The second part and fourth EP, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt.2, was released in November 2015. The first Korean-language compilation BTS album, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever, was released in May 2016.

Their third tour, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life On Stage Tour, which was held from November 27, 2015, to August 14, 2016, was based on the previously released albums. The tour was held in Asia (13 cities in South Korea and Japan), with a total of 22 shows and 182,500 attendees.

Wings, the second Korean and overall fourth studio album by the K-Pop boy group, dropped in October 2016. The album was later reissued as You Never Walk Alone in February 2017. The Wings Tour was held from February 2017 to December 2017, based on the album of the same name.

The tour venues spanned 12 countries, including Japan, Brazil, Australia, Hong Kong and the United States. The tour recorded a total number of 550,000 attendees, making it BTS’ second biggest tour of all time.

The fifth Extended Play of the world-popular group, Love Yourself: Her, was released in September 2017 and followed after by Love Yourself: Tear, the third Korean language album, in May 2018.

The third installment in the Love Yourself series, Answer, was released in August 2018. Map of the Soul: Persona, was released as the sixth EP of the group in April 2019 and preceded their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour.

The tour ran from August 2018 to October 2019. The tour began in South Korea in 2018. A stadium extension of the tour began in California in May 2019. Love Yourself Tour officially concluded in October 2019, after 62 concerts in 14 countries.

The concert was attended by over 2 million people, becoming the group’s most successful tour and ranked by Billboard as the most successful tour and highest-grossing by a musical act performing in a non-English language.

BTS’ last planned tour for April 2020, Map of the Soul, to promote their album series of the same name, was postponed till August 2021, and later cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Media outlets like the Hindustan Times have reported speculations by a Hyundai Motor Securities researcher that BTS may go on tour in 2025. These reports haven't been confirmed officially.
