The Witch follows the story of Park Mi-jeong, a woman shrouded in mystery. Since childhood, she has been plagued by strange misfortunes that affect anyone who expresses romantic feelings for her. As a result, rumors have labeled her a "witch," isolating her from society. Despite her loneliness, Mi-jeong has built a quiet life as a translator, using her talent in English to make ends meet.
Her life takes a turn when she meets Lee Dong-jin again, a man from her high school days. Dong-jin admired her from afar but never confessed his feelings. Now a skilled data analyst, he recalls the mysterious tragedies surrounding Mi-jeong. Determined to help her, he embarks on a dangerous mission to uncover the truth behind her so-called curse.
Mi-jeong, burdened by years of guilt and fear, hesitates to let Dong-jin in. However, his persistence awakens her longing to live freely. As Dong-jin investigates the string of accidents linked to her past, he risks his own safety to find a rational explanation.
The story explores their journey of unraveling the "curse" and finding hope. It weaves a tale of love, resilience, and the battle between superstition and logic. The plot
The 51-second teaser video for The Witch, released on January 13, 2025, begins on a snowy day. High school student Dong-jin (GOT7’s Jinyoung) notices Mi-jeong (Roh Jeong Eui), a girl with a sorrowful expression, across a snow-covered field.
A voiceover from a student asks, "Do you know what the kids in class 3 call Park Mi-jeong?" The response follows, "witch," as the words "There was a woman called a witch" flash across the screen.
The next scene shows Mi-jeong standing in the snow, holding an umbrella, as her voiceover reveals:
“Since I was young, strange things have always happened around me.”
The following shots depict a male student struck by lightning, sparking rumors at school that Mi-jeong is the cause of the bizarre accidents. Dong-jin’s voiceover then explains that Mi Jung, unable to bear the rumors, eventually leaves the school.
Years later, Dong-jin, now a sought-after data miner, hears the name "Mi-jeong" on the subway, catching his attention. A man confesses to a woman standing before him, saying, “I like you, Mi-jeong.” The woman is revealed to be Mi-jeong herself. She hides her face under a low-hanging hat and responds:
“What do you even know about me?”
Moments later, the man collapses on the subway floor. People around him scramble to administer CPR while calling for an ambulance. Mi-jeong, unfazed, exits the train, with Dong-jin following her as the voiceover says that there are people for whom the law of death follows them like a curse.
The teaser ends with Dong-jin asking someone:
"Do you think there are witches?"
Fans of Kang Full's works, GOT7's Jinyoung, and gripping mystery romances eagerly await The Witch.
