No Gain No Love spin-off drama Spice Up Our Love starring Lee Sang-yi and Han Ji-hyun as the main lead actors has been confirmed for an October release. The spin-off drama of the ongoing tvN and TVING drama No Gain No Love starring Shin Min-ah and Kim Young-dae, is based on its second lead characters.
Although Lee Sang-yi and Han Ji-hyun star as second lead characters in No Gain No Love, they will be taking charge in the spin-off drama. The TVING original series Spice Up Our Love is directed by Jung Hoon and written by Jo Min-jung.
Meanwhile, No Gain No Love's writer Kim Hye-young joined as a creator. The show is planned by CJENM STUDIOS and produced by Bon Factory.
On September 19, TVING confirmed Spice Up Our Love is scheduled to be released on Thursday, October 3, 2024, on the VOD platform in South Korea. It will also be aired on the global OTT platform Prime Video in other countries.

Spice Up Our Love: Plotline, cast, and connection with tvN drama No Gain No Love explored
Spice Up Our Love follows the story of Nam Ja-yeon a 19+ web novelist who one day magically finds herself inside one of her novels named, “The CEO's Menu”. Nam Ja-yeon, played by Han Ji-hyun, sees herself as the female protagonist named Seo Yeon-seo in her novel.
Meanwhile, Lee Sang-yi will play the role of Kang Ha-jun, the protagonist of her R-rated romance novel. Kang Ha-jun is the CEO of GB Electronics with a cold personality and Seo Yeon-seo is the nutritionist in the company.
On September 19, TVING and Prime Video dropped the first poster of the spin-off drama featuring Lee Sang-yi and Han Ji-hyun creating anticipation among the fans. The poster illustrates a romantic atmosphere with an office backdrop as Lee Sang-yi is seen holding Han Ji-hyun. The poster states:
“I woke up to find myself in my own romance novel.”
The ongoing tvN drama No Gain No Love is connected to the spin-off as Nam Ja-yeon is a part of the drama as the female lead Son Hae-young’s (Shin Min-ah) friend. Nam Ja-yeon goes by the name of Yeon Bo-ra to keep her identity as a 19+ romance web novelist hidden.
On the other hand, Lee Sang-yi plays Bok Gyu-hyun, a third-generation chaebol and the CEO of Kkulbee Education who does not believe in love, romance, or understand the concept of marriage in No Gain No Love. Bok Gyu-hyun becomes an anti-fan of Nam Ja-yeon due to her bold and sensual writing.
According to MBN's report on September 16, the production team of the drama shared their thoughts on the release of the spin-off. They said:
“Spice Up Our Love hasn't been released yet, but we're happy to be able to tell an expanded story about the sub couple in the spin-off. It's a new attempt, so it's fun, and we plan to provide a wide range of enjoyment with content that will target the tastes of drama fans, so please show lots of interest and anticipation.”
An additional twist that makes the story interesting is when Nam Ja-yeon in Spice Up Our Love realizes that the protagonist of her novel is not her muse Yeo Ha-jun, but her anti-fan Bok Gyu-hyun.
Spice Up Our Love episodes 1 and 2 are set to be aired on TVING and Prime Video on October 3, 2024.
