BLACKPINK's Lisa took over the internet with dance crew HolyBang for her special performance stage of solo song ROCKSTAR. On Wednesday, July 31, Lisa unveiled the performance stage with the dance crew members Honey J, EEVEE, TARO, Lo-A, Mull, and Jane with two additional dancers.
HolyBang is a widely popular dance crew in South Korea that won the title of the Best Female Dance Crew on the Street Woman Fighter season 1, beating groups Lachica, Hook, and more.
Previously, the dance crew leader Honey J had choreographed the song Take Me by Miso, which Lisa performed during BLACKPINK concerts for her solo stages. With their recent collaboration with ROCKSTAR, the common fans of the two have expressed their excitement on social media.
Who is HolyBang? South Korean female dance crew winners of Street Woman Fighter season 1
The female dance group participated in the fierce dance competition of Street Woman Fighter, broadcast between August 24 and October 26, 2021. Street Woman Fighter was about eight female crews battling against each other to become the Best Female Dance Crew, representing street dancing in the country.
HolyBang members Honey J, Hertz, EEVEE, TARO, Lo-A, Mull, Belle, and Jane won the show. In 2022, the dance crew signed with the entertainment label MORE VISION, which Jay Park founded.
According to the official website of MORE VISION, Honey J, EEVEE, TARO, Lo-A, Mull, Backa and Jane are the current active members of the group. The agency described the group as:
“It consists of a total of seven members, led by leader Honey J, EEVEE, TARO, Jane, Mule, Lo-A, and Backa. The team names 'Holy' and 'Bang' are both words used as exclamations, meaning 'we hope that everyone who sees the stage will be impressed'."
Honey J
Jeong Ha-nee aka Honey J is the leader of the group who was born on 26 August 1987 and is 36 years old. She is globally known as one of the best Hip-hop dancers and choreographers in South Korea.
In November 2022, she tied the knot with former model Jung Dam and welcomed her first baby in April 2023. She is best known for her choreography of the song Mommae by Jay Park.
EEVEE
Kim Bom-i also known as EEVEE is a choreographer and the third oldest member of the dance crew who was born on March 10, 1993, and is 31 years old. Besides being a part of the dance crew, EEVEE recently participated in the dance competition P Type Vol. 2 with her students under the name Temptation.
TARO
Dancer TARO was born on April 1, 1994, and is 30 years old. Her real name is Park Ye-seul. Alongside her crew members, TARO was also a part of Jay Park's dance team for his recent Water Bomb festival performance in July 2024.
Jane
Jane is also a hip-hop dancer. Her real name is Jang Won-jin she was born on January 5, 1995, and is 29 years old. Jane is a friend of Oh My Girl's leader Hyojung, it is known that the two are college classmates. They have showcased support for each other through their social media accounts.
Mull
Lee So-eun known by her stage name Mull was born on February 28 1996 and is 28 years old. Mull is known for her remarkable dancing skills. She was the choreography director for a dance sequence performed by Park Eun-bin and Kim Hyo-jin in the tvN drama Castaway Diva.
Lo-A
Kim Ye-jin also known as Lo-A was born on August 3, 1996, and is 28 years old. Lo-A started her dance studio in 2021 known by the name Loa Dance Studio.
Backa
Member Backa born on March 12, 1988, is also a part of the team. She is the second oldest member of the group and has performed with them many times with the crew. Backa was mentioned by Honey J during her acceptance speech for Street Woman Fighter, as she could not participate in the show.
Meanwhile, Hertz and Belle reportedly departed from the group in February 2024, and February 2023 respectively.
