On December 17, 2024, BTS' Jungkook stirred the online community as the K-pop fans were abuzz on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), as "#STOPCOPYINGBTS" trended globally.

The controversy erupted after fans alleged that Vietnamese artist Anh Trai Say Hi's music video, HÙNG HUỲNH - CHẲNG THỂ NHẮM MẮT (Prod. Kewtiie), bore striking similarities to the BTS idol's Standing Next To You— a standout track from his debut solo album, Golden. The allegations reignited conversations about intellectual property in the global music industry.

Anh Trai Say Hi recently released a music video that fans claim replicates key elements of the BTS idol's Standing Next To You MV, including its outfits, choreography, and visual themes. Fans highlighted similarities such as mirrored set designs and dance routines, sparking accusations of plagiarism.

However, the backlash prompted the Vietnamese artist to reportedly turn his latest MV private on YouTube. While Anh Trai Say Hi has not yet responded to the allegations, the controversy drew significant attention across social media in both Vietnam and South Korea.

"Oh-Yeah, Today, i'll use this account for trending BTS A Vietnamese artist just released a MV. Vietnamese ARMY felt that some scenes in the MV were somewhat similar to Jungkook's SNTY. STOP COPY BTS," one BTS ARMY wrote on X.

The ongoing discourse surrounding the alleged plagiarism reflects the global reach of BTS and its members’ solo projects. Fans called for greater respect for K-pop artistry, emphasizing that the similarities in Anh Trai Say Hi's video could undermine the originality and effort that went into producing Jungkook's MV.

"Đụng vào nhà tao là tới số rồi đó MV "Chẳng thể nhắm mắt" of Gemini Hùng Huỳnh has coppied Standing Next To You of JUNGKOOK BTS from concept MV, the content of MV and the melody of the song. STOP COPYING BTS #STOPCOPYINGBTS" one fan wrote.
"A Vietnamese artist just released a MV. Vietnamese ARMY felt that some scenes in the MV were somewhat similar to Jungkook's SNTY. STOP COPY BTS" another fan said.
"The song MV "Chẳng thể nhắm mắt" has copied Standing next to you - JUNGKOOK . We request @BIGHIT_MUSIC & @HYBEOFFICIALtwt to estimate and solve this. STOP COPYING BTS," another fan added.

Many other similar fan reactions also inundated social media.

"Hello @bts_bighit @BIGHIT_MUSIC @GeffenRecords @HYBEOFFICIALtwt Gemini Hùng Huỳnh's "Chẳng Thể Nhắm Mắt" blatantly plagiarizes by #JUNGKOOK "Standing Next To You." Can you do something about it? Thank you," one fan reacted.
"We were missing the shameless bad copy from temu," another fan said.
"Good lord what is this blasphemy," one other fan commented.
