The entertainment industry has many highly anticipated movies and TV shows as 2024 comes to a close. This latter stretch of the year offers various genres, from exciting sci-fi adventures to biographical dramas. In the upcoming weeks, there will be something for everyone, regardless of whether they are fans of classic franchises or legendary singers.

Babygirl, A Complete Unknown, and other movies and TV shows to look forward to before 2024 ends
1) A Complete Unknown (December 25, 2024)
James Mangold wrote the screenplay with Jay Cocks and directed the 2024 American biographical drama A Complete Unknown. Centered around the controversy of the pivot of Bob Dylan from acoustic to electric music, the movie is based on the 2015 book Dylan Goes Electric! by Elijah Wald.
Timothée Chalamet plays Dylan and is also producing, while Scoot McNairy, Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, and Boyd Holbrook portray supporting roles. The song's title is derived from Dylan's 1965 composition Like a Rolling Stone.
A Complete Unknown opened at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on December 10, 2024, and will be distributed in the United States by Searchlight Pictures under their Searchlight Pictures label, slated for release on December 25, 2024.
2) Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (December 20, 2024)
The 2024 action-adventure comedy movie Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is based on the Sega video game series. The video games Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) and Sonic Adventure 2 (2001) serve as inspiration for the movie.
On December 20, 2024, Paramount Pictures is scheduled to release Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in theaters across the United States.
3) Mufasa: The Lion King (December 20, 2024)
Barry Jenkins is the director of the 2024 American musical drama Mufasa: The Lion King, adapted from a script by Jeff Nathanson. An animated movie with a prequel and sequel to the 2019 remake of the 1994 blockbuster The Lion King, it is produced by Walt Disney Pictures.
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, John Kani, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen, and Donald Glover return to their roles from the remake; Aaron Pierre, Tiffany Boone, Mads Mikkelsen, and Blue Ivy Carter, in her feature film debut are among the new cast members.
The movie pays tribute to James Earl Jones, who passed away on September 9, 2024, who was the original voice of Mufasa in the 1994 original and the 2019 remake.
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures is set to release the movie on December 20, 2024, following its December 9, 2024, premiere at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
4) Babygirl (December 25, 2024)
Babygirl is a 2024 American erotic thriller written, directed, and co-produced by Halina Reijn. It stars Nicole Kidman, Harris Dickinson, Sophie Wilde, and Antonio Banderas.
As prominent CEO Romy Mathis (Nicole Kidman) starts an illicit liaison with an enticing intern, Samuel (Harris Dickinson), who is much younger, the movie examines the intricacies of power dynamics and se*uality in a work environment.
The movie premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on August 30, 2024, and then at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2024. A24 plans to release the movie in theaters on December 25, 2024.
5) Nosferatu (December 25, 2024)
Robert Eggers is the writer and director of the 2024 American Gothic supernatural horror movie Nosferatu. It is a remake of the same-titled German film from 1922, which was an unapproved adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula novel from 1897. It stars Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Nosferatu premiered in Berlin, Germany, on December 2, 2024. The movie will be released in theatres on December 25, 2024, by Focus Features in the U.S. and Universal Pictures internationally.
6) The Fire Inside (December 25, 2024)
The American biographical sports film The Fire Inside marks Rachel Morrison's debut as a film director in 2024. The movie tracks American professional boxer Claressa "T-Rex" Shields as she prepares to compete in the Summer Olympics 2012. Ryan Destiny stars alongside Brian Tyree Henry.
The movie will hit screens with Amazon MGM Studios on December 25, 2024, after bowing on September 7, 2024, in the Special Presentations section of the Toronto International Film Festival.
7) Better Man (December 26, 2024)
Robbie Williams, the British pop artist, is the subject of the 2024 semi-biographical film Better Man. Michael Gracey co-wrote, co-produced, and directed it. Jonno Davies uses motion capture to create the CGI portrayal of Williams as a chimpanzee.
It had its world premiere on August 30, 2024, at the 51st Telluride Film Festival. Paramount Pictures will distribute it in select theatres on December 25 and everywhere on January 10, 2025.
8) Dune: Prophecy
Diane Ademu-John and Alison Schapker developed the American science fiction television series Dune: Prophecy for the National Broadcasting Company. The show, which is set in Frank Herbert's Dune universe, delves into the beginnings of the Bene Gesserit, a formidable group that has superhuman skills acquired by rigorous mental and physical training.
The first season of Dune: Prophecy premiered on November 17, 2024, to mostly positive reviews. Season 1 episode 6 is set for release on December 21, 2024.
9) Star Wars: Skeleton Crew
Jon Watts and Christopher Ford developed the American sci-fi adventure television series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew for Disney+. It is set in the Star Wars world and occurs after Return of the Jedi (1983), about the same period as The Mandalorian and its spin-offs.
The show centers on four kids who find something on their home planet, get lost in the cosmos, and then set out on a quest to return home.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is streaming on Disney+. The initial two episodes are currently accessible, while the season finale will air on January 14, 2025, as new episodes release every Tuesday. The total number of episodes is eight.

10) Secret Level
Tim Miller developed the animated anthology series Secret Level for Amazon Prime Video. It has fifteen stories that are based on various video game settings. Keanu Reeves, Heaven Hart, Laura Bailey, Kevin Hart, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Arnold Schwarzenegger are among the voice actors.
Its first eight episodes were released worldwide on December 10, 2024, with the remaining seven episodes released on December 17, 2024.
