28 Years Later is a post-apocalyptic zombie horror movie, which serves as the third installment in the 28 Hours Later franchise. The first part, 28 Days Later, was released back in 2002, which was followed by 28 Weeks Later in 2007. Primarily led by Cillian Murphy, the first two movies documented the gruesome aftermath of the outbreak of the Rage Virus, which turned people into vicious, hungry zombies.
Being authentic with its namesake, the 2024 film begins 28 years after the first outbreak of the virus. While the first two installments focused on the creation of the virus and its expansion, the third part will delve into how the Rage Virus has evolved itself. This makes the zombies immune to even hunger, thirst, and fatigue.
28 Years Later chronicles a dystopian future where the virus has infected a major population across the globe. Yet, some part of the society has managed to keep themselves alive with primitive tools, creating their own set of rules.

Actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson essays the role of Jamie in 28 Years Later. He is a fellow survivor living on the guarded, isolated island. He is one of the very first people who embark on a journey to venture into the mainland, simply with a bow and arrows for his protection.

In the trailer for 28 Years Later, the viewers catch a glimpse of a zombie, which is very similar to the character of Jim in the earlier two movies of the franchise, portrayed by Cillian Murphy. As per ANI News, Murphy is reported to reprise his role as the "zombified version of Jim." Moreover, he is credited as the executive producer of the film on the Sony Pictures website.
