Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Carry-On, is an action thriller starring Taron Egerton, Jason Bateman, and others. The movie is about a TSA officer at the Los Angeles International Airport, Ethan (Egerton), who aspires to be a policeman.
As one of his first tests, he has to manage the X-ray machine at the airport. Set on Christmas Eve, Ethan is soon blackmailed by an unknown person, who wants Ethan to follow his directions and let a nerve agent enter a flight.

Die Hard 2, The Commuter, and others movies like Carry-On
1) Phone Booth - Amazon Prime Video
Directed by Joel Schumacher and starring Colin Farrell, Phone Booth, is a psychological thriller. The movie is about an arrogant publicist, Stuart (Farrell) whose life turns upside down. When he answers an unassuming call at a Times Square phone booth, he finds himself in a precarious situation with an unknown assailant.
The offscreen villain forces Stuart to dig into his past and confront his lies, or his life will be in danger. Like Carry-On, the movie is about a central character being blackmailed by an unknown killer, and who has to race against time.
2) The Commuter - Apple TV+
Liam Neeson is famous for starring in action thrillers that have similar plots to Carry-On. In The Commuter, Neeson is Michael, an ex-cop. While traveling on a train from New York City to Tarrytown, a stranger, Joanna (Vera Farmiga), makes him an offer. If Michael can help her find a person, she will give him $100,000.
While Neeson is hesitant, Joanna blackmails him into agreeing by threatening his family’s safety. As an astute ex-cop, Michael decides to play the game but stays alert. The movie offers the same premise as Carry-On, only this time it is on a train. Both movies have similar action.
3) Die Hard 2 - Amazon Prime Video
Die Hard is a popular film franchise and its second installment is an adrenaline-filled adventure. Bruce Willis essays his iconic role of detective John McClane. This time, he must save his wife and other passengers after a band of ex-military men, decide to stop airport operations and let an international criminal go free.
While the jury is out on whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie, it does have a Christmas Eve backdrop like Carry-On and has some of the best action sequences in cinema. From the start till the end, the movie is a required watch.
4) Red Eye - Amazon Prime Video
Starring Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy, Red Eye, is a thriller by Wes Craven. While travelling from a red eye flight, Lisa (McAdams) meets an acquaintance, Jackson (Murphy), who quickly turns from a friend into a foe. He blackmails Lisa to kill the US Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security.
Unwillingly embroiled in an assassination plan, Lisa must use her wits to outsmart Jackson. And fight for her safety and others onboard. The movie has a similar premise as Carry-On and is set around an airport and flights. The movie has tense and thrilling. atmosphere.
5) Eagle Eye - Amazon Prime Video
Directed by D.J. Caruso, Eagle Eye is a movie about two strangers, Jerry Shaw (Shia LaBeouf) and Rachel Holloman (Michelle Monaghan), who are coerced by a mysterious caller to follow her commands. They must obey the caller or their lives will be in danger.
The movie has many twists and turns and features a cunning cat-and-mouse chase. Like Carry-On, the movie is an action thriller and fans will like the similar premise of blackmail and thrills. The movie performed decently well and is a compelling watch.
