Books-turned-movie adaptations often bring unconventional stories to life, and that is exactly the case with Nightb*tch. Based on Rachel Yoder's novel, it is centered around a stay-at-home mother who spends most of her time caring for her baby. Her ordinary life takes a turn when she starts to transform into a dog at night.

In the lead is Amy Adams who viewers will remember from Enchanted (2007) and American Hustle (2013). As she has plenty of experience in terms of offbeat roles, viewers are certain that she will add depth and charm to the magical realism-style story. In addition to Adams, the film by Marielle Heller also stars Scoot McNairy, Arleigh Snowden, Emmett Snowden, Zoë Chao, and others.

Netflix has witnessed the release of several books-turned-movie adaptations in the last few years. The latest title that has got subscribers talking is The Electric State based on Simon Stålenhag's graphic novel of the same name. This is hardly surprising as adaptations from graphic novels tend to be more visually stimulating.

The story is set in an alternate version of 1994 wherein a young girl, Michelle, meets a mysterious robot who claims to know her long-lost brother. The duo then set out on a cross-country adventure to find him.

In the lead is Millie Bobby Brown of Stranger Things fame. It also stars Chris Pratt who plays Keats, a roguish smuggler, who tags along with Michelle and the robot. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo have worked on successful MCU films in the past which leads viewers to believe that they will be able to create a cinematic experience that balances thrilling action scenes with heartfelt storytelling.

And so, it is not surprising there there is a buzz around The Amateur which stars the talented Rami Malek in the lead.

The upcoming thriller by James Hawes is based on Robert Littell's novel of the same name. Malek plays Charles Heller, a CIA cryptographer. When his wife dies in a London terrorist attack, he decides to take matters into his own hands and track down the people responsible.

Given Malek's affinity to play complex characters, cinephiles are certain that he will be able to capture the character's conflicting and vengeance-fueled emotions. Littell's novel has received high praise from bookworms for its suspenseful plotline and unpredictable twists which they are hoping to see on the big screen soon.

Adapted from Edward Ashton's sci-fi novel, Mickey7, this upcoming movie became the talk of the town when Bong Joon-ho took charge as the writer and director.

Bong Joon-ho gained international fame with Parasite but it has been more than five years since the South Korean filmmaker has returned with a new project so fans have a lot of expectations from Mickey 17. It focuses on Mickey Barnes, portrayed by Robert Pattinson, an "expendable" employee who regenerates every time one iteration dies.

This upcoming thriller by Edgar Wright is set in a dystopian version of 2025 wherein the economy has crumbled. Ben Richards, portrayed by Glen Powell, participates in a dangerous reality show. Cinephiles get particularly excited for books-turned-movie adaptations when they involve crowd-favorite titles. Freida McFadden's The Housemaid was a big hit when it came out. In fact, the success of the first book led to several sequels. And so, book lovers were elated when the news of an adaptation came through.

According to reports, Paul Feig, the filmmaker behind Bridesmaids (2011), Ghostbusters (2016), and A Simple Favor (2018), will be directing the movie. The story is about a young woman named Millie who is hired to work as a maid for an upscale couple, Nina and Andrew. Even though the family looks perfect on paper, things don't seem quite right under the surface.

With regards to the cast, Sydney Sweeney has signed on to play Millie and Amanda Seyfried will be playing Nina. Since both actors have played complex characters with ease before, readers are certain that they will be able to do justice to their roles.

People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry boasts sizzling chemistry and witty banter which is why fans of the author are particularly looking forward to this upcoming adaptation.

The narrative centers around Poppy and Alex who have very different personalities and yet somehow become the best of friends. They always make a point to spend their summer vacation together. Things become complicated when they try to figure out if their relationship can grow into something more.

In the director's chair will be Brett Haley who is known for his work in Hearts Beat Loud (2018) and All the Bright Places (2020). Tom Blyth will be playing Alex and will be joined by Emily Bader, who will play the role of Poppy. Out of all the books-turned-movie adaptations on this list, this one promises to be the most heart-warming and charming.
