1) An Almost Christmas Story (2024)
David Lowery is the director of the 2024 animated short film, An Almost Christmas Story. Following the release of Le pupille (2022) and The Shepherd (2023), Disney+ announced in September 2024 that An Almost Christmas Story would be the third and last holiday short created by Alfonso Cuarón for the streaming service.
The film revolves around Moon, a baby owl, who unexpectedly ends up in a Christmas tree that is headed to Rockefeller Center. He befriends Luna, a lost girl, while trying to find his way home. As Moon and Luna return home to their parents, they set off on a touching trip together, learning about the magic of the holidays and developing a relationship.
Four songs, including two original ones, are performed by John C. Reilly in his role as "The Folk Singer". To design and produce, David Lowery turned to Maere Studios founder Nicholas Ashe Bateman. And to simulate various forms of animation, such as stop motion and miniatures, the studio developed a fully computer-generated animation process.

2) Hot Frosty (2024)
In the 2024 Christmas romance comedy Hot Frosty, a widow named Kathy Barrett owns Kathy's Kafé in Hope Springs, New York. She uses a magically animated snowman (played by Milligan) to combat her loneliness.
After her husband passes away, Kathy battles with leaks, ruined stairs, and malfunctioning heating at her café. At their store named "Reclaimed Rags," she brings lunch to her friends, Theo and Mel, one day. They offer her a crimson scarf to inspire her to discover joy.
Later, at a sculpture contest, Kathy puts the scarf on a snowman and that evening, Jack, the snowman, comes to life. Following a few incidents, Kathy asks Jack to join her at her café and finds out that all he can recall is her putting the scarf on him.
Jack finds a job at the neighborhood school and assists Kathy with home renovations while he acclimates to life. At a holiday dance, the two experience a moment of intimacy despite Jack overheating and worrying that he will melt.

3) Our Little Secret (2024)
Our Little Secret has been making a craze on the internet lately. The ensemble cast includes Lindsay Lohan alongside Ian Harding, Tim Meadows, Jon Rudnitsky, Judy Reyes, Henry Czerny, Chris Parnell, and Kristin Chenoweth. As an executive producer, the movie is a part of Lohan's creative collaboration with Netflix.
The plot focuses on Avery (Lohan) who is enjoying her first Christmas with her boyfriend's family. She soon finds out that her ex Logan (Harding) is also part of the festive celebration. Avery and Logan get to know that both are dating siblings, Cam and Cassie Morgan, respectively. Since the two dated ten years ago, they decide to conceal their past, particularly from Erica, the Morgans' controlling mother.
Avery then inadvertently consumes THC gummies while assisting Logan with a business pitch, which results in a successful but a messy church reading. She later accuses the family dog of consuming Erica's cookies and pays a large sum to make up for the error.
Many secrets are revealed over the family meal, including an affair.

4) The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (2024)
Based on a Barbara Robinson children's book from 1972, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever follows an odd bunch of kids as they decorate a little village for the holidays.
A busy mother, Grace (played by Judy Greer) is deceived into managing the Christmas performance for the neighborhood church. The six mischievous Herdman kids, a local outlaw clan, further add to her problems. These kids volunteer to act in the festive performance, partly because of the church's plentiful supply of snacks.
As the oldest Herdman, Imogene (Beatrice Schneider) begins to find meaning in the pageant roles. This movie is all about discovering the true meaning of Christmas, but with a humorous twist. It is meant for all age groups and can be binge-watched with the family as well.

5) Nutcrackers (2024)
Ben Stiller stars in the 2024 comedy-drama Nutcrackers, which is written and directed by Leland Douglas and David Gordon Green. The movie debuted as the Toronto International Film Festival's opening feature this year.
Following the deaths of his sister Janet and her husband, Michael "Mike" Maxwell is called to rural Ohio. While social worker Gretchen Rice searches for a foster home, Mike is responsible for looking after his rowdy nephews, Justice, Junior, Samuel, and Simon Kicklighter. The children are homeschooled and they participate in risky activities while residing on a farm.
Carol, Mike's advisor, puts pressure on him to consummate a real estate deal by threatening to hand the job off to Devin, who lacks experience. When a couple offers to take the younger two kids, Mike refuses to part from them as he becomes closer to the children. While the Kicklighters attempt to convince affluent Al Wilmington to become their foster parent, their antics at his Christmas party inside a mansion ruin their plan.

6) Meet Me Next Christmas (2024)
In this movie Meet Me Next Christmas, Christina Milian plays Layla and Devale Ellis potrays the role of Teddy. In order to obtain the most sought-after ticket in town—the sold-out Pentatonix Christmas Eve Concert—Layla must rush around New York City in search of a romantic fairy tale with the guy of her dreams.
Layla does this, in an attempt to get back in touch with a man she met at the airport the previous year. In order to help her search, she enlists Teddy, a private concierge who is in danger of losing his job. The two begin to fall in love, or maybe not. Watch this romantic movie to find out.

7) That Christmas (2024)
That Christmas is a 2024 animated fantasy comedy film based on Curtis's trilogy of children's book That Christmas and Other Stories. The titular characters are voiced by Brian Cox, Fiona Shaw, Jodie Whittaker, and Bill Nighy.
The film is streaming on Netflix since December 4, after making its BFI London Film Festival debut on October 19, 2024. It is a jumble of interconnected tales about friends and family, loneliness and love, a great mistake by Santa Claus, and an abundance of turkeys.

8) Mary (2024)
After the trailer was released, Mary received a lot of backlash on the internet for casting an Israeli actress in the Biblical epic, as reported by Fox News. However, it created a hype for viewers. Directed by D. J. Caruso, the movie features Anthony Hopkins, Ido Tako, and Noa Cohen.
Released on Netflix on December 6, the movie covers Mary's journey from her childhood to teenage years. Her birth was considered a blessing for her parents, who were afraid they wouldn't be able to have children. After being notified by the angel Gabriel that Mary will give birth to God's son, she gets rejected by the town because of her pregnancy.
Following the birth of Jesus, the new family flees when King Herod becomes fixated on locating the newborn Messiah. Mary is compelled to go into concealment with her husband, Joseph, along with their infant son, Jesus. And they escape to Egypt when Herod the Great orders the "Massacre of the Innocents".
