William (Grant) is a bookstore owner in Notting Hill, London. A chance visit from Hollywood icon Anna Scott (Roberts) changes both their lives. They immediately fall for each other. However, their relationship goes through several trials and tribulations.


2) Leave the World Behind (2023)

This 2023 film, written and directed by Sam Esmail, the creator of Mr. Robot, is based on Rumaan Alam's 2020 novel of the same name. It stars Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Myha'la Herrold, and Kevin Bacon, among others.

The official synopsis of the film reads:

“A family's getaway to a luxurious rental home takes an ominous turn when a cyberattack knocks out their devices — and two strangers appear at their door.”

Leave the World Behind, available for streaming on Netflix, imagines a time when satellites, televisions, and mobile phones have been rendered useless due to a massive cyber security breach.

In this apocalyptic thriller, a large-scale conspiracy against America is afoot, and it comes in the form of a huge cyberattack. The implications of the same are tragic as life in the country is thrown into a state of utter chaos.

Various characters in the movie must deal with the consequences in their own ways. This Julia Roberts-starring movie takes a pessimistic view of the dire situation.


3) Ticket to Paradise (2022)

This feel-good romantic comedy from 2022 has two of Hollywood’s most recognized faces leading the cast: Julia Roberts and George Clooney. The synopsis of the film on Netflix reads:

“Determined to sabotage their daughter's upcoming wedding in Bali, a long-divorced couple agrees to a truce — and begins to see eye-to-eye again.”

Clooney and Roberts play David and Georgia Cotton, a divorced couple whose marriage ended 20 years ago. Their daughter Lily (Kaitlyn Dever) decides to get married after graduating from college, and her parents team up to break up her marriage.

This dark comedy crime film directed by Gore Verbinski stars Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt. The official synopsis of the film reads:

6) America's Sweethearts (2001)

This is another romantic comedy on Netflix starring Julia Roberts. Directed by Joe Roth and written by Billy Crystal, this film sees Roberts pairing up with John Cusack.

“Kiki agrees to help her movie-star sister fake a reconciliation with her equally famous husband, only to realize she might not want them back together.”

Roberts plays Kiki, the sister of famous actress Gwen (Catherine Zeta-Jones). Publicist Lee Phillips (Billy Crystal) advises Gwen and Eddie (John Cusack) to fake a public reconciliation to promote a movie. Kiki helps with this plan, but things get complicated when she and Eddie develop feelings for each other. By the end of the movie, Kiki and Eddie decide to start a relationship.
