Average Joe is a drama film directed by Harold Cronk and written by Stephanie Katz. The film is based on the true story of football coach Joseph Kennedy, who was fired from his job for praying at the field. Average Joe has a runtime of 1 hour and 50 minutes. As a deeply religious man, Joe would pray silently after every game to honor his commitment to God. But, it was not well received by the school district as they fired him from the job for praying.
Joe fought for his religious freedom by taking legal recourse. His case went up to the Supreme Court and they ruled in his favor on June 27, 2022. Furthermore, he was reinstated back to his job on March 8, 2023.
