What is Be Careful What You Say about? Plot details

Despite not having a counseling degree, Iris Atwood hosts a podcast to give relationship advice to her listeners. She is supported in this endeavor by her best friend and co-host, Zach Morales, and producer Henry Quinn. However, her younger sister Kylie, who is a psychology major, believes that Iris’s “from the heart” advice may be dangerous. This creates a lot of tension between the sisters.

Things take a turn for the worse when Iris offers advice to a troubled single mom, Vanessa, who is struggling with feelings of losing control over her disrespectful teenage son, Dylan. Iris advises Vanessa to practice “tough love,” but when Vanessa follows this advice, her life is disrupted when Dylan dies. Grief-stricken, Vanessa holds Iris responsible and, months later, enters Iris’ life with the motive of exacting revenge.
