Fans eagerly await the release of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice can rejoice, as the highly anticipated Tim Burton project now has an officially confirmed release date. Warner Bros Pictures released the latest trailer on July 18, 2024, confirming the earlier official announcements that the film is set for a theatrical release on September 6, 2024.
As per the confirmation from Warner Bros. Pictures, the movie will feature Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, and Willem Dafoe.
The plot of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is very hushed up to maintain the hype of the film, but the multiple trailers for the movie suggest that the developments are seemingly triggered by the death of a member of the Deetz family. In the movie, Beetlejuice is summoned at one point, seemingly by Astrid Deetz, Lydia Deetz's daughter.
When is Beetlejuice Beetlejuice releasing and how can you watch it?
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is set for release on September 6, 2024, exclusively in theaters. The announcement for the same was first made on February 1, 2024, via Beetlejuice's official Instagram page. However, several developments since then have led the audiences to believe that its release date had been pushed further.
With the release of the upcoming movie's full-length official trailer on July 18, 2024, Warner Bros Pictures has refuted those claims and set the movie's release date on the date they had previously promised.
What to expect from the film?
As mentioned earlier, the plot of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is being kept under wraps. However, based on the trailers released for the film, it seems that a family death occurs and Beetlejuice is summoned at some point in the movie. The official synopsis of the movie released along with the trailer also points towards the same.
A bit more clarity on the movie's plot was offered by the film's director Tim Burton during a conversation with Entertainment Weekly back on March 20, 2024. Speaking to EW he said that the upcoming movie is expected to centre around three generations of Deetz women. He said:
"I so identified with the Lydia character, but then you get to all these years later, and you take your own journey, going from cool teenager to lame adult, back and forth again. That made it emotional, gave it a foundation. So that was the thing that really truly got me into it."
He also admitted during the interview that the film's plot takes place years after the first film, and after there has been a death in the Deetz family. He said:
"That's all I will say, there's something that happens that sets things in motion.”
When asked if the death he was referring to was that of Lydia's father, Charles Deetz, Burton decided not to reveal too much.
