The movie is set to release on July 3, 2024, but this time not on the big screen. The action-packed title will be exclusively available on Netflix for fans to stream and enjoy. The trailer recently released online and revealed the release date for the film. It saw the lead character, who is on a mission, teaming up with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who plays his partner in crime.
The official summary of the trailer, as posted on YouTube, reads:
"Detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) is back on the beat in Beverly Hills. After his daughter’s life is threatened, she (Taylour Paige) and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy."
Another teaser for the film was released by Netflix on June 10. The short clip featured a captivating helicopter scene, hinting at intense action sequences and heaps of humor in the movie.

"Eddie's such an incredible artist. He can do drama, he can do comedy — he can do anything. And he's the same Axel Foley. He's still on the streets. He's still doing what he does. Obviously, with age, you get wiser. But he still has the twinkle in his eye."
The script for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is written by Will Beall, Tom Gormican, and Kevin Etten. Mark Molloy directs the film and the movie marks his feature directorial debut. He spoke to Tudum and shed light on some of the "funniest moments" in the title as he said:
"Some of the funniest moments in Axel F are when Eddie's improvising. For me, a big part of my job was to create the right environment, cast the right people around Eddie to allow him to do what he does best."
