Slater's island is the hub of criminal activities in Blink Twice
What appears as a harmless interaction between two individuals at the beginning of Blink Twice soon becomes perilous after Slater invites Frida and her friends to his island for a party-filled vacation.
Frida, unaware of what the future holds, agrees to go on the trip with her friend Jess, courtesy of the small crush she develops for the very handsome and billionaire bigwig Slater.
When they arrive at his extravagant property on an island, everything seems too good to be true. Frida and Jess's days pass by drinking, consuming drugs, and living life to the fullest, something that wouldn't have been possible otherwise due to their low-income jobs.
However, things soon start feeling a bit off for Frida, who starts realizing that there are significant gaps in her memory. She also notices several unaccounted-for bruises on her body.
To top it off, her friend Jess also goes missing, and she sets out on a mission to find the truth. She learns that besides her, none of the women on the island had any memory of Jess apart from Sarah, who had found Jess's lighter with her name engraved on it.
The two make a pact and go on a search for the truth. Along the way, they find out that Slater and his people have been drugging all the women on the island with venom from a specific flower capable of wiping one's memories. They have been using the flower to create gaps in the memories of the victims who were physically assaulted by Slater and his friends.
Slater is subdued by Frida in Blink Twice
After Frida finds out the truth about Slater, she leaves no stone unturned to further delve into the intricacies of the case. She figures that Jess, who had been earlier bitten by a snake, was capable of remembering her past, which had led her to confront Slater and eventually get her killed.
Frida realized that if that was the case, then the snake venom was an antidote for the poison Slater was introducing to the girl's bodies. She allied with Sarah on the mission and fed the venom to all the people on the island by mixing it with shots. Quite naturally, all of their memories start coming back, including the heinous things Slater and his people had done to them.
Collectively, they decide to take revenge on him, which leads to a physical fight between the wronged women and Slater and his men. Casualties occur on both sides, but the women end up overpowering Slater's people, causing multiple deaths. Slater narrowly escapes and tries to overpower Frida and attempts to attack her but is soon left confused and jaded.
As it turns out, Frida had mixed the same concoction in Slater's vape that he was using to wipe the girl's memories, resulting in him losing track of his actions. Despite Slater having the upper hand in the altercation, the poison acts at the right time, allowing Frida to overpower him.

Blink Twice is a movie about the transfer of power
As revealed in Blink Twice, the charismatic and charming billionaire Slater King had been a victim of abuse. As viewers, one would think that Slater would be one of the last people to subject others to the same traumatic experiences he had suffered in the past. However, that is not the truth.
As the story of Blink Twice progresses, it is revealed that Slater and his people have been assaulting women on his private island for a considerable period, and to make sure that they don't remember anything, they have been wiping the girls' memories with the help of a flower venom. As a result of his activities, Slater becomes a perpetrator in addition to being a victim.
Later on in the film, when Frida finds out about the snake venom that can serve as an antidote for the poison, she uses it to bring back the girls to their senses. The girls then declare war on Slater and his people and are able to kill almost everyone besides Slater.
Despite his best efforts at harming Frida, Slater loses track of his thoughts as he forgets everything, courtesy of Frida lacing Slater's vape. One would assume that Frida would have killed him after that, but that is not what she does.
The next scene of Blink Twice shows Frida in a romantic relationship with Slater. Frida has been using the same poison that Slater was using before to wipe out his memories, allowing her to make things work in her favor. From what it appears, Frida seems to be almost in a similar social standing to that of Slater.
Therefore, the power once held by Slater in Blink Twice is transferred to Frida by the end of the movie.
Blink Twice was released in theaters across the United States on August 22, 2024.
