Borderlands movie will be released on August 9, 2024
Borderlands movie will be arriving in theaters in the U.S. on August 9, 2024, and will have a runtime of 102 minutes. The global release date of the film is yet to be revealed. The production of the film began in April 2021 in Budapest Hungary, and was among the projects that continued filming during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In January 2023 the film went through two weeks of reshoots without Roth, who was caught up with Thanksgiving 2023. Nevertheless, Roth was relieved that Tim Miller could fill in for him, while Zak Olkewicz penned new pages for the director.
In June 2023, Mazin revealed to Variety that he had his name removed from the credits and denied the rumors of “Joe Crombie” involved in the credits as a co-writer alongside Roth was his pseudonym. Here’s what he had to say:
“I am not a credited writer on the film, so I cannot claim any kind of authorship of ‘Borderlands,’ much less ‘co-writing.' I did see the report about the pseudonym, which is false. I did not use a pseudonym. If the name in question is indeed a pseudonym, all I can say is… it’s not mine.”
