Brothers is an upcoming road comedy film directed by Max Barbakow, set to premiere on October 10, 2024. Based on a story by Etan Cohen, the screenplay was written by Macon Blair. On September 17, 2024, Amazon Prime Video released the official trailer of Brothers. The trailer shows the two brothers, reuniting and venturing into a cross-country journey. They find themselves running from the entire law only to save precious green emeralds worth $4 million.
The brothers eventually reunite with their stranded mother, and the family must fix their differences, to escape the mess.
It was back on February 29, 2019, when Legendary Pictures first announced they were working on a project. The initial storyline of the movie was inspired by the 1988 movie Twins, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.
Screenwriter Etan Cohen, known for his work in movies including Men in Black 3 and The Bad Guys, was chosen to develop the story.
Peter Dinklage and David Ginsberg were set to produce the film for Estuary Films, Andrew Lazar through Mad Chance, and Josh Brolin for JB Productions. Trish Stanard and Macon Blair later joined as executive producers.

What is the story of Brothers
Brothers narrates the story of Moke and Jady Munger, who have spent their entire childhood carrying out little thefts. The two eventually chose their separate ways. In the movie, Moke is a reformed criminal, starting a family with his wife and expecting a child. But his life takes a sharp turn when his recently bailed brother Judy, knocks on his door.
Judy preaches to him a plan, their last heist to get rich forever. Moke has got the skills and Judy has got the brain. Moke agrees but their straight plan takes a sudden slip. The duo soon find themselves being chased by Inspector Parful, who doesn't bother throwing Judy in the bathtub, in the middle of the night.
While on the run, they reunite with their mother after decades who teams up with them, to get their hands on the green emeralds, worth $4 million. The movie will follow their adventures, across the entire country, and show if they succeeded.
