Avery initially believes that the Canary Black file is a compilation of blackmail material, produced by the CIA to exert influence over government officials.

Nathan Evans, the Deputy Director of the CIA, informs her that the file contains information that could compromise important individuals, including her mentor, Jarvis Hedlund. As Avery progresses in her mission, she discovers that Canary Black is not merely a list but rather a potent digital weapon.

The CIA secretly created this virus, which has the ability to corrupt and take down digital infrastructure all over the world. The file poses a greater threat than Avery had anticipated, as it could disrupt global internet systems and lead to widespread chaos. Avery's mission shifts from saving her husband to saving the world due to the truth surrounding the virus.

One of the film’s most shocking twists is the betrayal by Avery’s husband, David. Initially, Avery fights to rescue him after he’s kidnapped by Konrad Breznov’s terrorist group. However, as the story unfolds, David’s real identity is revealed. He’s not a victim but an assassin known as Kali.

He staged his own abduction to manipulate Avery into stealing the Canary Black file. The reason he showed that he owed a significant debt to a Russian mob and planned to sell the virus to clear it. This betrayal deeply affects Avery. She believed she was rescuing her husband, but he had been using her for his own agenda.

Although Kali admits that he still loves her, the damage is irreversible. Avery can no longer trust him, and their relationship falls apart as the extent of his deception becomes clear.

Avery confronts Breznov at his headquarters during the film’s climax. Breznov plans to utilize the Canary Black virus to coerce nations by showcasing its capabilities at the Global Unification Summit.

He demonstrates the virus's capabilities by disabling Singapore's internet, cautioning that other nations will encounter similar disorder unless they send him money.

Avery and Kali collaborate in a final attempt to halt Breznov. A shootout occurs, and Avery stabs Breznov before he can cause further damage. Eventually, she stops the virus from spreading. Avery, despite her previous actions that conflicted with the CIA, eventually saves the world from chaos.

Avery is arrested by the CIA following the defeat of Breznov. Deputy director Evans claims that she poses a national threat.

As Evans confronts her, a new character named Elizabeth intervenes. Avery is presented with an opportunity to become a member of MC6, a covert organization established in response to the worldwide turmoil triggered by the Canary Black virus.

Elizabeth recognizes Avery’s potential and proposes her freedom in return for joining this elite team. Avery must decide whether to accept the offer and continue her work or risk imprisonment. The film concludes with this decision remaining unresolved, creating the possibility for a sequel where Avery could confront new global threats.

A global threat of the Canary Black Virus

In the film, the virus turns out to be the ultimate weapon of destruction. Developed by the CIA as a last resort in cyberwarfare, the virus has the potential to incapacitate entire nations by disrupting digital systems. When Avery comprehends its true nature, she recognizes that the consequences are far greater than her husband's life.

If the virus were to be released, it could lead to a global collapse, which would impact a wide range of sectors, including national security and financial systems.

The true motive of Konrad Breznov

Konrad Breznov aimed not only for financial profit but also to challenge the existing world order. He opposed the influence of superpowers like the United States and aimed to leverage the virus to alter the global power dynamics.

His plan to hold the world hostage by controlling the virus indicates his intention to undermine powerful nations. Avery intervenes at a crucial moment, preventing him from executing his plan completely.

At the end of Canary Black, Avery has to deal with betrayal, global threats and moral dilemmas. She finally saves the world but stops trusting the people closest to her, like her husband. Although the virus has been killed, Avery's emotional state is clearly worse. The fact that MC6 was introduced makes it seem like Avery's journey is far from over.

The movie leaves room for a sequel where Avery may continue her fight against threats around the world. The fact that she's still wearing the wedding ring shows that she and Kali are still angry at each other. As Avery goes on, the decisions she makes will affect not only her future but also the future of the whole world.
