Yesterday, June 24, 2024, James Gunn's Superman began filming in Cleveland, Ohio. With this being the first time that the film was shooting in an open area, fans were able to get a sneak peek at David Corenswet and Edi Gathegi in their respective super suits, and the fan reactions towards the suits have been overwhelmingly positive.
The first look at David Corenswet's Superman suit was released earlier this year, however, it drew mixed reactions from fans who claimed that the suit looked too baggy in the still. But, if the recent reactions are anything to go by, then it looks like the set photos that came out yesterday have made the fans do a complete 180 on the suit.

Many fans are calling it the "best" Superman has ever looked in live-action. One fan posted on X saying:

Alongside the Kingdom Come logo, Corenswet's suit also has a bright color palette to it where the colors pop. It also features the classic trunks that the DC character is well known for and also has the classic shield on the cape. These details on the suit also got many excited with one fan posting:

Many were excited to see the trunks finally be back on the Man of Steel as well. Another fan enthusiastically posted:

At the same time, Edi Gathegi's look as Mr. Terrific earned acclaim too with many fans claiming that he has the "greatest live-action suit ever". A fan posted:
Mr. Terrific's jacket especially was a huge talking point among fans who were interested in having it as well. One fan posted:
"I need Mr. Terrific's jacket..."
"Alright your next job is to start selling Mr Terrific jackets," poster another fan.
With the Man of Steel and Mr. Terrific also being a great superhero duo in the comics, some fans are also expecting some good moments between the two. One fan posted:
"I need a bunch of buddy cop moments between Mr. Terrific and Superman."
When does James Gunn's Superman come out?
Superman directed by James Gunn is set to come out in theatres next year on July 11, 2025. Alongside David Corenswet's Man of Steel and Edi Gathegi's Mr. Terrific, the film will also star Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and it will also include many other DC superheroes from the comics.
James Gunn's longtime collaborator Nathan Fillion will be joining the film as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern. The film will also star Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, and more. Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell have also been cast as Jonathan and Martha Kent in the film respectively.
Milly Alcock's Supergirl is rumored to appear in the film too. Plot details about the film haven't been revealed yet, but the David Corenswet-starrer will also be launching a new era of DC films under the leadership of James Gunn.
Fans can watch Gunn's Superman fly into theatres next year.
