Deadpool & Wolverine was released in theatres on July 26, 2024. The film saw Ryan Reynolds's Merc with a Mouth be joined by Hugh Jackman's angry mutant. With AMC theatres running an exclusive popcorn bucket campaign, the makers behind Deadpool & Wolverine made their own popcorn buckets.
The bucket features a Wolverine helmet with a giant mouth opening through which one can get the popcorn out. It is exclusively available to get through an AMC theatre. The popcorn bucket costs around $29.99, and fans can even get a limited edition Headpool popcorn bucket costing around $39.99.
However, if fans are planning to go to AMC now to get the popcorn buckets, they might be out of luck as despite being widely available during the release, they might have just been sold out owing to their limited stock. Fans who still wish to get a Deadpool & Wolverine popcorn bucket may try accessing one through eBay or other resell sites that may be selling the product for a higher price than earlier.
Featuring Jackman's return as the much-loved character, this film is the first Deadpool film to take place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With the film taking place in the MCU, Deadpool & Wolverine saw Wade Wilson bring another universe's Wolverine to his Earth to save his universe. However, being sent to the Void by the TVA, he has to team up with Wolverine to battle the ruler of the place, Cassandra Nova, while ensuring he makes it out of there and saves his world.
Ryan Reynolds jokes about the Deadpool & Wolverine popcorn bucket
Given just how seriously Ryan Reynolds takes the marketing of his films, he decided to help create this popcorn bucket as well. While Wolverine having an open head was already quite suggestive, Reynolds decided to take the joke a step further and had a good amount to say about it in his Jimmy Kimmel Live opening monologue:
“You remember the Dune popcorn bucket that could double as your lover?"
He then continued,
"Well, listen, we made a Wolverine bucket for our movie and what’s crazy is I didn’t realize until right now that, you know, people are really gonna f--- this thing!," said Reynolds.
Director of Deadpool & Wolverine Shawn Levy also further added his comments saying that the public is definitely going to want this.
“I think it is inspired and the world doesn't know how badly it needs this, but they're about to," said Levy (via Entertainment Weekly).
However, this wasn't the only limited edition themed Deadpool & Wolverine merch, as Marvel teamed up with X-Box too to deliver Wolverine and Deadpool-themed controllers.
The film directed by Shawn Levy, starring Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, Chris Evans, Dafne Keen, Jennifer Garner, Channing Tatum, Wesley Snipes, and others is still in theatres.
