Descendants 3 marks the last time the Descendants franchise's original Villain Kids reprise their role as the fourth and latest installment, Descendants: The Rise of Red, features a new cast list.
The third installment of the Disney Original fantasy musical, released in August 2019, continues the adventure of the offspring of the infamous villains in Disney storybook history. In Descendants 3, viewers will see Mal and her VK friends return to the Isle of Lost to find a new batch of four VKs to enter Auradon Prep.
Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Cameron Boyce and Booboo Stewart return to play the four Villain Kids Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay. Returning Descendants cast members Mitchell Hope and Sarah Jeffery join the VK crew.

Descendants 3 main cast and characters
1) Dove Cameron as Mal
Dove Cameron is the purple-haired Mal, the daughter of Maleficent. In Descendants 3, she has to decide whether or not to close the barrier permanently to protect the people of Auradon in the movie.
The Disney sitcom Liv & Maddie, which ran for four seasons and earned the actress a Daytime Emmy win, earned her much success. She was in The Lodge, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Schmigadoon!.
Cameron also joined the music scene with singles like Boyfriend and was the AMA's New Artist of the Year in 2022.
2) Cameron Boyce as Carlos
The late Cameron Boyce is Cruella de Vil's son Carlos. He tragically passed several months before Descendants 3 came out.
The Los Angeles-born actor has over 40 projects in his filmography. Besides the first three Descendants movies, Boyce was in Grown Ups 2 and Runt. Cameron Boyce also starred in Disney's Jessie and was in Paradise City, which was released two years after his death.
3) Mitchell Hope as Ben
Mitchell Hope's Ben in Descendants 3 is the Prince son of Beast and Belle, the king and queen of Auradon, who later assumed the role of king after his parents had retired. He also plays the Mal's boyfriend in the movie.
He also voiced Ben in the 2021 TV special Descendants: The Royal Wedding, which featured his fictional marriage to Dove Cameron's Mal. Besides the Descendants movies, Mitchell Hope has also appeared in movies like Let It Snow and Love You Like That. His latest project, via his IMDB page, is the 2022 drama Don't Make Me Go.
4) Sofia Carson as Evie
Sofia Carson's Evie in Descendants 3 is the daughter of the Evil Queen from the story of Snow White's story. She finally gets her true love's kiss in the third installment of the franchise.
Carson has worked on dozens of acting projects in and outside of Disney. Fans may have remembered her character as Tessa in A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits, or more recently, as Cassie in Purple Hearts. She also sang Come Back Home in the Purple Hearts soundtrack.
She voiced the character of Evie in the Disney animated Descendants: Wicked World and was in Disney Monstober.
5) Booboo Stewart as Jay
Booboo Stewart returns to play the confident and sneaky character of Jay, the son of Jafar from Aladdin, in Descendants 3. He completes the four VKs who will be trying to protect the people of Auradon from outside forces trying to break into the barrier in the movie.
Stewart has had several small and guest roles in films and TV since he entered the acting scene in 2003 but quickly rose to fame after landing the role of Seth Clearwater in the second installment of The Twilight Saga, Eclipse.
He also returned to the character in the third and fourth films, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2. He was Warpath in X-Men: Days of Future Past, Conway in Space Warriors, and more recently, Luca Ryusaki in the TV series Good Trouble.
6) Sarah Jeffery as Audrey
Sarah Jeffrey is Princess Audrey, the daughter of Prince Phillip and Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, in Descendants 3.
She assumes an antagonistic role in the third installment after destroying the crown in the library when she realizes that she will never be crowned queen. She falls into darkness and evil after being lured by Maleficent's scepter.
Jeffery has a collection of acting roles that span television and films. She was Evie Travis in the 2013 series Rogue, Christina Santos in Shades of Blue and Maggie Vera in all four seasons of the Charmed series.
Movies like Across the Line and Daphne & Velma comprise the actress's filmography and so is her recent portrayal of Zoey in LEGO DreamZzz—Trials of the Dream Chasers.
Secondary cast members in the movie
New characters join the OG Descendants crew, including Hades (played by Cheyenne Jackson) from Hercules and Dr. Facilier (played by Jamal Sims) from The Princess and the Frog.
