It is the season of Christmas trees, presents, and Ben Stiller. This is because the actor made back-to-back appearances in the films Dear Santa and Nutcrackers in the closing days of November. While Stiller played a small and unforgettable yet uncredited role in the former, he took centre stage as the lead character, in the latter.
Although Stiller's role in Nutcrackers is well-known, his association with Dear Santa is not. Ben Stiller appears in the role of Lucifer in the closing moments of Dear Santa. In the film, Lucifer is depicted as Satan's (portrayed by Jack Black in the film) boss.
Is Ben Stiller in Dear Santa?
As previously mentioned, in an intriguing twist, Ben Stiller made an uncredited cameo appearance in the Christmas comedy film, Dear Santa, during the film's final moments. He portrayed the role of Lucifer, a menacing figure and the supreme ruler of Hell who exercises a stronghold over Satan and his activities.
Towards the end of the film, Lucifer, who is Satan's boss, confronted him about his failure to fulfil a crucial task, which was bringing back a deserving soul to Lucifer. When Satan appeared puzzled by the accusations, Lucifer revealed that Satan had not succeeded in his mission based on specific criteria.
Lucifer revealed that Satan, played by Jack Black, had misled Liam by presenting himself as the true Lord of Hell and had only offered to fulfil his good wishes and not the bad ones which was what he was typically expected to do.
After Lucifer mentioned this to Satan, he was immediately punished for his wrongdoing by being stripped of his horns. He was also cast out from the depths of Hell as a punishment.
What is the film about and who appears in it?
Dear Santa's plot follows a young boy named Liam Turner, played by Robert Timothy Smith, who mistakenly addresses a Christmas letter to Satan instead of Santa. When Liam drops his misspelt letter into the mailbox, it ends up in Hell instead of the North Pole where Santa resides.
This error results in the summoning of Satan, portrayed by Jack Black, who must complete several tasks before he can return to Hell with Liam's soul.
Besides Black and Smith, some of the other actors in the film include:
- Jaden Carson Baker as Gibby
- Kai Cech as Emma
- Brianne Howey as Molly Turner
- Hayes MacArthur as Bill Turner
- Keegan-Michael Key as Dr. Finkleman
- P. J. Byrne as Mr. Charles
- Gavin Munn as Aidan
Some memorable cameos in the film include Post Malone as himself (credited) and Ben Stiller as Lucifer (uncredited).
