Sean Diddy is set to have a documentary, which will primarily focus on all the allegations against him and the controversies related to drug and s*xual abuse. As per a report by Deadline, published on May 22, 2024, fellow rapper 50 Cent is set to be among the executive producers of the documentary.
In the same conversation with the publication, the rapper, also known as Curtis Jackson, claimed that Netflix secured the rights to his documentary titled Diddy Do It. According to Jackson, it will be a Netflix exclusive. However, the streaming service has not confirmed this. In December 2023, Jackson's G-Unit Film & Television announced the documentary.
Alexandria Stapleton, who is working as the director of this project, spoke to Variety along with 50 Cent. In the report, published on September 25, 2024, she said her goal is to provide an authentic perspective of the rapper's alleged violent history.
For the unversed, Sean Combs was arrested on September 16, 2024, from New York, with multiple accusations involving s*x trafficking, racketeering, and engaging in transportation for pr*stitution. He pleaded not guilty but was denied bail and is currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Earnings from Sean Combs' documentary will go to victims of se*ual assaults, 50 Cent announced
Last year, Diddy's former partner Cassie Ventura filed a million-dollar lawsuit against him with multiple accusations involving a history of physical violence and s*xual abuse. On December 7, 2023, 50 Cent posted on X that his documentary Diddy Do It, will feature the victims of the rapper's assaults and added that all the earnings will be donated to the victims.
Back in February 2024, one of Diddy's former employees Rodney Jones accused the rapper of forcing her to indulge in s*xual activities. Additionally, Combs was reported to have forced a yacht captain to stay silent after the rapper's son Christian Combs allegedly forced a steward into oral s*x.
In May 2024, CNN retrieved surveillance footage which was taken back in March 2016, where Sean Combs is seen pushing and kicking Cassie in a hotel hallway. The rapper went on to take full responsibility for his actions, posting a now-deleted video on Instagram.
In the exclusive conversation with Variety, published on September 25, 2024, 50 Cent shared his view on producing the documentary.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions,” he said
Diddy Do It does not have a release date yet
As per reports, there is no confirmed release date for the P. Diddy documentary on Netflix. Neither 50 Cent nor the streamer has provided any confirmation, given that the documentary has been recently set to production.
However, as per a Deadline article, published on September 18, 2024, another docuseries is currently in the works from Investigation Discovery. The new ID docuseries titled Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV is set to be released in 2025 by Maxine Productions.
