Disaster Holiday is a South African family comedy written and directed by Rethabile Ramaphakela, acclaimed for How to Ruin Christmas. The film released on Netflix on December 13, 2024.

Nkosi is best known for his role as Aap in the Academy Award-winning film Tsotsi (2005) and as Thomas in the sci-fi hit District 9 (2009). His performance in White Wedding (2009) earned him the Best Actor award at the 2010 South African Film and Television Awards. He was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Ayanda and the Mechanic (2015) at the same awards in 2016.
2) Lunathi Mampofu as Nandi
In Disaster Holiday, Lunathi Mampofu portrays Nandi, the wife of Joseph Ngema. Nandi is caught between her husband's chaotic plans and the family's unexpected adventures during their trip to Durban. Mampofu's performance in Disaster Holiday marks her first comedic role.
Mampofu is best known for her role as Zikhona in the SABC1 drama series Ingozi. She has also appeared in 1802: Love Defies Time (2023) and Shadow (2019). In November 2024, Mampofu won the Best Styled Individual and Hot Chick of the Year awards at the 16th annual Feather Awards, celebrating her contributions to the entertainment industry.
3) Tina Jaxa as Dora

Tina Jaxa is a seasoned South African actress with a career spanning over four decades. She gained prominence for her roles in television series such as Generations and Isidingo. Her film credits include Of Good Report (2013) and While You Weren't Looking (2015). Throughout her career, Jaxa has received several accolades.
Jaxa won the South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) for Best Supporting Actress in a feature lilm for While You Weren't Looking in 2016. In 2017, she received the SAFTA Golden Horn for Best Actress in a TV Soap for her role in Gold Diggers. Additionally, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Drama for Isikizi in 2018 and for Best Actress in a TV Drama for Erased in 2021.
4) Deli Malinga as Rose
Deli Malinga plays Rose, a well-meaning tour guide in Disaster Holiday, who takes it upon herself to make the family’s chaotic trip as smooth as possible. Reflecting on her experience, Deli shared that she thoroughly enjoyed shooting for the role.
In an interview with TRUELOVE on November 8, 2024, she explained,
“My role there was to pretend as if I know it all and assist them, showing them the place and being a tour guide”
Deli Malinga is a seasoned South African actress with a career spanning over three decades. She has appeared in numerous television series, including Shaka iLembe (2023), Clean Job (2023), and iNkaba (2012).
Her portrayal of MaNgema in the telenovela Redemption earned her the Best Supporting Actress in a Telenovela award at the 2023 South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs). Additionally, she won the Best Actress TV Award at the 2024 Simon 'Mabhunu' Sabela Awards for her role in Umkhokha: The Curse.
5) Jacques Adriaanse as Manager
In Disaster Holiday, Jacques Adriaanse plays the manager at the company where the lead, Joseph Ngema, works. He reveals to Joseph that the company is downsizing, and his presentation will make or break his place in the company, igniting the plot's main conflict. From the trailer, his character seems straightforward and strict.
Jacques Adriaanse is a South African actor, singer, and songwriter with a portfolio of both local and international projects. Notable appearances include the Netflix series Kings of Jo'burg (2020) and the historical drama Abraham Lincoln (2022).
He also starred in the short film Ons, directed by Christopher van der Westhuizen. In addition to his screen work, Adriaanse has an extensive theatre background, featuring in productions like Charlotte’s Web and Pippie Langkous: Die Musical. He is also a singer-songwriter and released his first EP, Freedom, in 2021.
