What is the plot of Red Rooms?
The film focuses on the story of a model named Kelly-Anne, who gets overly involved in the ongoing proceedings of a murder trial. She becomes obsessed with the story of the accused killer Chevalier, and starts trying to dig up information on his case.
In this process, she finds out more about one of his victims Camille Beaulieu. Slowly, Kelly-Anne starts dissociating and trying to mimic Camille. She even shows up to the courtroom trial wearing clothes similar to the victim. She breaks into Camille's former house and hacks into her email accounts.
Finally, it is Kelly-Anne's dissociation that brings forward a crucial piece of evidence that proves Chevalier guilty. The film uses fragmented visuals and warped cinematography at places to show how Kelly-Anne's mental state progresses (or rather, deteriorates) throughout the storyline.
