Amid the preparations for the upcoming US Presidential Elections in November, a photo of Ryan Reynolds had surfaced on the internet where he could be seen wearing a T-shirt, which read:

"Kamala removes nasty orange stains."

Several netizens had already reshared and reacted on the viral photo. More than 186,000 people have viewed the post which was seemingly posted by an X account named @Nosurrender2022. One user tweeted,

"Oh I love it."
"And another star who is a no star anymore!! Stay out of politics and make movies if you want to keep fans!! No more movies for me with Ryan," wrote another user.

There were another group of netizens who claimed that the photo was fake. One wrote,

"Nice fake picture."
"At least get better at photoshop," added another tweet.

The post had confused a number of people, who had ended up commenting their views, believing that the photo was real. However, the viral image is fake and the post has been debunked. Reynolds has not yet endorsed any Presidential candidate for the upcoming election.

The Canada-born actor had become a US citizen only in 2018 and voted for the first time in the 2020 elections. The viral image was likely created by using AI tools and thus, have no genuineness.

Ryan Reynolds did not wear a T-shirt expressing any support to any political figure

As mentioned, despite what the rumors suggest, Ryan Reynolds did not endorse any Presidential candidate as of now. While he voted in the US for the first time in 2020, it wasn't clear who he voted for. There had been indications that the photo was AI-generated.

A number of clues had been obtained by VERIFY analysis, which indicated that the photo was fake. The hands of the actor in the photo looked quite pixelated with the knuckles protruding out more than usual. Further, Ryan Reynolds' skin looked too smooth in certain portions of the picture and the ears look smaller than usual.

VERIFY further analyzed that there was a shadow under his jaw, which did not seem realistic. Also, while his shirt looked wrinkled, the image overall looked flat. A reverse image search was conducted using RevEye, in which it was discovered that no significant source had published the viral photo of the Deadpool & Wolverine star wearing the shirt.

Another discrepancy of the photo was that it showed a tattoo on Reynolds' left forearm. However, several photos captured at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, 2024, which were further published by Getty, did not reveal any permanent ink on his body. Another image of him with Hugh Jackman at the same event proved the absence of a tattoo.

Apart from these possible technical errors and disparities, no such information of Ryan Reynolds supporting any Presidential candidate had been reported by any major news publication. It is thus safe to conclude that the photo which went viral, is indeed fake.
