The Golden Globes 2025 is shaping up to be a star-studded evening celebrating excellence in film and television. The ceremony is taking place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 5 at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT on CBS.

One of the most anticipated highlights of the night is whether global pop icon Taylor Swift will grace the red carpet. Swift, who has previously been nominated for Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and four nominations in the Best Original Song category, has been the subject of widespread speculation about her attendance.

Much to the disappointment of the Swifties, there is no official confirmation that Taylor Swift will attend the Golden Globes 2025. The singer made headlines for her outfit at the ceremony last year, but she is most likely to skip the event since she has received no nominations this year.

As aforementioned, Taylor Swift has received no nominations at the Golden Globes 2025 and is not listed among the evening’s presenters, making her most likely absent from the event.

Page Six, quoting a source, reported on January 5, 2025, that Swift and her partner, NFL star Travis Kelce,

“spent the days leading up to New Year’s in New York, but they flew back together to Kansas City on Monday.”

Her absence from the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Denver Broncos on the same day as the Golden Globes 2025 fueled further questions about her plans. Some fans are taking this absence as a sign that she might make a surprise entrance at the event, but this is not yet confirmed.

Swift has yet to announce her next project after wrapping up her Eras Tour in December, leaving fans eager for updates. In an interview with Variety on January 2, 2025, the host of Golden Globes 2025, Nikki Glaser talked about whether or not she would come up in her monologue.

"Not unless it’s a very favorable way. She was at the Golden Globes last year — I would have loved for her to be in the audience this year. I’m hoping this turns into a gig that I can do multiple times, and I can perform for her, because I’ve watched her so many times," she said.

While the popstar is not a part of the ceremony this year, Taylor Swift’s presence at the Golden Globes 2024, made headlines and dominated social media. Her arrival on the red carpet in a custom couture gown by Gucci immediately trended, and fans linked it to her Reputation era.

Inside the ceremony, Swift's reaction to her friend, Emma Stone's win, and her standing ovation for Barbie's win also garnered attention.

Clips of her interactions with other celebrities, including Bill Hader and Selena Gomez quickly went viral. Her reaction to a joke by host Jo Koy also went viral, where Jo said,

“The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.”

Taylor's reaction implied that she did not appreciate the joke, and chose to sip on her drink rather than acknowledge the gag.

While talking about the 2025 movies, the host of Golden Globes 2025, Nikki Glaser mentioned,

"And then “Wicked” is the one that we’re really trying to nail. It has that “Eras Tour” energy — I want to respect the fandom and not trash it, because as a Swiftie, there is no joke you can make about Taylor Swift that is OK to me. I relate to people who love “Wicked” that much. But it’s so nice to have “Wicked,” because everyone’s seen it."

Stay tuned for more updates.
