How long is Nosferatu's extended cut? Everything to know

Robert Egger's latest directorial feature, Nosferatu, finally hit digital platforms on Tuesday, January 21, 2024, almost a month after its release. The horror film that focuses on a young woman being tormented by a vampire has already seen great success at the box office, and now fans will be able to enjoy the film from the comfort of their homes. However, that's not all, as the home release also brings along an extended cut of the film.

The Nosferatu home release features a longer cut of the movie that adds about four minutes of extra footage to the 2 hours 12 minutes theatrical runtime of the movie. Fans will have to check the movie out for themselves as Focus Features didn't specify the details of the extended scenes, but for those craving more of Bill Skarsgard's horrifying vampire, this will certainly satisfy them.

Nosferatu is also still currently playing in theatres. So, those who want to check out the film on the big screen also have the option of doing so.


How to watch Nosferatu's extended cut?

The extended cut of the movie is available to purchase through video-on-demand right now. Fans can choose to purchase the film through streaming services such as Amazon, AppleTV+, Fandango at Home, and more in the United States of America. The film is currently available on Prime for the price of $24.99.

For those who don't want to purchase and want to look for a cheaper option, then the choice of renting the film is available too for a period of 48 hours. The price for that on Prime is $19.99.

Those looking to purchase the physical or digital copy of the film in 4K UHD, Blu-ray, or DVD will have to wait till February 18. These versions will include both the theatrical and the extended cut of the vampire movie and other exclusive features. The 4K UHD + Blu-ray + Digital copy is priced at $29.99 and the Blu-ray + Digital version will cost $24.99.


Nosferatu's home release comes with special features

Aside from the extended cut of the movie, the Lily-Rose Depp-starrer also comes with a bunch of additional special features. These features dig into the behind-the-scenes of the movie where fans will get to see exactly how this remake of the classic horror movie came to life. It features interviews with actors such as Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Bill Skarsgard, and more.

Alongside that, fans also get a glimpse into the making of the film that exclusively goes over the set design of the movie, the visual effects, and the score. It also includes a feature that goes over the prosthetics that were used to create Bill Skarsgard's Count Orlock and how he brought the character to life and got lost in the role.

The home release also includes three deleted scenes. They are:

  1. Ellen at the Window
  2. Harding's bed chamber / Dark corridor
  3. Behold the third night.

Fans will also be able to watch the film with a commentary provided by writer/director Robert Eggers.

Nosferatu is a remake of the 1922 film of the same name. Written and directed by Robert Eggers, the film focuses on a vampire who starts tormenting a young woman after he gets infatuated with her. It is heavily inspired by Bram Stoker's Dracula as well. The official synopsis reads as follows:
