The Avengers movies are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). MCU is the term given to a series of related films and their spin-off television shows, short films, and digital series, which are all based on the characters of the Marvel Comics. The MCU has over 30 films and this vast universe began with Iron Man in 2008. The franchise is also one of the most successful franchises today.

While the MCU has several movies, the Avengers movies currently stand at four. The group is a team of superheroes based out of the Marvel Comics characters. Created by the fictional character Nick Fury, they belong to an organization known as SHIELD that comprises the most gifted individuals who protect humans from various threats.

They best part about the movies is that they bring together all the different superheroes in one movie for a culminating win.
