Ben Affleck got married to Jennifer Garner on June 29, 2005. The two had previously worked together on Pearl Harbor and Daredevil, the latter of which was notable for the romantic tension between Affleck's Daredevil and Garner's Electra. The two married each other in a private ceremony on the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Over the course of their marriage, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner had three children: Violet Anne Affleck, born December 2005, Fin Affleck, born January 2009, and Samuel Garner Affleck, born February 2012.
Ben and Jennifer announced their separation in June 2015, with Ben moving out to a guesthouse in the family home until 2017. In April 2017, the two filed for divorce and sought joint physical and legal custody of their children. Ben reflected on the divorce in a February 2020 interview with The New York Times. He said:
