Eddie Murphy and Paige Butcher said "I do" after six years of getting engaged, as confirmed by photos shared by the Beverly Hills Cop actor's son, Christian, via his Instagram Story, and an exclusive feature by People, published on Friday, July 12.

Murphy and Butcher tied the knot during a small, intimate ceremony in Anguilla on Tuesday, July 9, with their family and close friends present to witness the milestone.

The occasion marks the second marriage for the actor and the first for the Australian model. The newly married have been thriving for over a decade despite their obvious age difference—Eddie Murphy just turned 63, while Paige Butcher is currently 44.

While the public has only just found out about their wedding, Eddie Murphy has let it slip that Paige Butcher is his wife over a week ago. During an appearance on The New York Times' The Interview podcast to promote his new movie, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Murphy used the word "wife" twice to refer to Butcher.

At one point during the June 2024 interview, the Shrek franchise actor gets candid about being "out of touch" with today's generation of stars and asking his "wife" for help to know who's who. He said:

"I used to be so hip, I used to know who everybody was, and now there's just so much stuff... [I] ask my wife, 'Who's this person?' I don't even know what's going on."

He also added that, like many other families, he and his "wife" watch shows on TV every night at 6:00 pm. He says Family Feud, The Masked Singer, and The Golden Bachelor are just some of the TV shows they like watching together.

Their wedding comes not even a month after the two, who have kept their romance private, stepped out for a red carpet date during the Murphy's Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F Los Angeles premiere on June 20.
