Director Nikhil Bhat and Dharma Productions' Kill is the latest Bollywood action thriller, which is now playing in theaters. The movie marks the debut of the Bollywood actor Lakshya and brings with it some gripping action sequences that are sure to leave fans of the action genre on the edge of their seats.

The Hindi-language Indian action movie features plenty of visually dynamic fight scenes and a plot that centers on the theme of the victory of good over evil as the hero takes on dangerous thugs and saves the day.

Kill will be available to stream from July 23, 2024 on platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV+.


When is Kill coming to the small screen?

The Bollywood action movie was released in theaters on July 5, 2024, and was met with praise for its high-octane drama. Even though it has faced serious competition from other major releases like Kalki 2898 AD, Kill stood up to the challenge to emerge as one of the most successful releases this year.

Now fans are eagerly anticipating the digital debut of the movie. It will premiere digitally and be available to watch on platforms like Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, and Google Play from July 23, 2024. The movie will be available to rent for $24.99.


What is the plot all about?

The story follows an army commando Amrit (Lakshya), who is devastated to find that his love Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) is engaged against her will. The official synopsis of the movie via Lionsgate, reads as follows:

"When army commando Amrit (Lakshya) finds out his true love Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) is engaged against her will, he boards a New Delhi-bound train in a daring quest to derail the arranged marriage. But when a gang of knife-wielding thieves led by the ruthless Fani (Raghav Juyal) begin to terrorize innocent passengers on his train, Amrit takes them on himself in a death-defying kill-spree to save those around him — turning what should have been a typical commute into an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride."

The movie is written and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain. Nikhil Nagesh Bhat's direction has been praised by Chad Stahelski, director of John Wick, who tagged the movie as "one of the most vivid, wild, and creative action movies I’ve seen recently." Stahelski has also talked about doing an English remake of the movie.

Producers Karan Johar, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain have said in a joint statement,

"When we made ‘Kill,’ we dreamed of global recognition. Seeing North American theaters chant ‘Kill! Kill! Kill!’ has been a dream come true. The announcement of the English remake before the film's release is unprecedented and a significant milestone for Indian cinema."

Kill premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on 7 September 2023. The movie managed to become the first runner-up for the People's Choice Award: Midnight Madness. It was also screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2024 before being released in theaters this July.

The Bollywood action movie directed by Bhat marks the debut of actor Lakshya, who plays the lead role of Amrit. He is joined by Raghav Juyal as Fani, who plays the villain, the leader of a dangerous gang that ambushes passengers aboard the train. Tanya Maniktala plays Tulika, Amrit's love interest.
