Road House (2024) director Doug Liman’s upcoming film The Instigators is about Rory and Coby who are reluctant partners in crime.

Reluctantly, Damon and Cobby join forces to uncover a corrupt politician's hidden finances. However, things do not go as they had hoped, forcing them to retreat from the scene while avoiding dishonest authorities, crooks, and even the police. They ask Rory's therapist for assistance who helps them in devising an escape strategy.

The official synopsis of the film as per Rotten Tomatoes reads as—

"Rory (Matt Damon) and Cobby (Casey Affleck) are reluctant partners: a desperate father and an ex-con thrown together to rob a corrupt politician's ill-gained earnings. But when the heist goes wrong, the two find themselves engulfed in a whirlwind of chaos, pursued not only by police but also by backward bureaucrats and vengeful crime bosses."
