Spider-Man 4 and Tom Holland's involvement in the fourth possible MCU iteration of the character have been the subject of a lot of discussions lately. Though the young actor had never denied that he would return for a possible fourth movie, rumors about the MCU not proceeding with the film and Tom Holland not willing to return for a fourth movie had filled the air.

However, in a recent interview with Deadline, Holland gave a definitive answer to the topic, ending all debates. When questioned about his potential return, he told Deadline—

"The simple answer is that I’ll always want to do Spider-Man films...I owe my life and career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. I’ll always want to do more."

Holland also addressed the complexities surrounding the development of a fourth film, especially after the tremendous success of the first three. This particular version of Spider-Man arguably has the best films so far. The actor also revealed in the same interview that this was the first time he was involved in the creative process.

"It’s just a process where I’m watching and learning" — Tom Holland reveals he is involved in the creative process for Spider-Man 4

Unlike previous versions of Spider-Man with Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield, which never progressed to a fourth movie, Marvel is still trying to move forward with Holland's version, especially as it remains one of the most intriguing movie lineups in the vast MCU.

In his interview, Tom Holland emphasized that the real challenge for him and the creative team at Marvel is intent on figuring out a way that a fourth film will outdo even the massive third one—

"We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect...The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing."

Elaborating on his creative involvement, Holland added—

"This is the first time in this process that I’ve been part of the creative so early. It’s just a process where I’m watching and learning. It’s just a really fun stage for me. Like I said, everyone wants it to happen. But we want to make sure we’re not overdoing the same things."

So, while Spider-Man 4 might be in the distant future, Holland's commitment assures fans that he's here to stay. Additionally, his approval suggests that we could see the actor in other Marvel projects.

Moreover, with a new generation of heroes and most of the veterans out of the picture, Spider-Man is expected to be one of the most prominent superheroes in the upcoming crossovers, which also reportedly include two more Avengers films.

However, amidst the turmoil in Marvel following Jonathan Majors' conviction and the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike last year, which halted several movies and TV shows, fans will have to wait a while before witnessing the web-slinging superhero in action again.

Till then, several other Tom Holland projects are on the way, which means there will be plenty of Tom Holland on screen before featuring in Marvel movies.
