Kaley Cuoco, the former Big Bang Theory star, has perhaps become just as well-known for her love for animals. As a vocal pet lover, she has taken care of plenty of animals over the years, especially dogs. In fact, her affinity for dogs is so high that once she refused to say how many dogs she owned, fearing that she had exceeded the legal limit.

In a 2021 interview with Variety, the actress refused to answer the question about the number of dogs she owned claiming that she wasn't sure she was allowed to own that many. The actress had said:

"I'm not allowed to say how many I have, because I am afraid they will come knocking, saying that it's an illegal amount,"

As per the laws, kennel or cattery permits are required to have over five dogs or 10 cats in a residential house, which was perhaps the reason Cuoco refused to publicly state the number of dogs she had adopted. For the past few years, Kaley Cuoco has regularly popped into the news for sharing updates about her pets.

Very recently, Kaley Cuoco was in the spotlight for sharing the reason she parted with her beloved dog, Shirley. The actress explained her decision to rehome Shirley after she moved in with her fiance Tom in a latest Instagram video, which has since created a massive uproar in the online community.

Why did Kaley Cuoco have Shirley move out?

In a recent Instagram video, Kaley Cuoco explained why she had to have her beloved dog, Shirley, rehomed following Tom's arrival at her house. According to the video that the Big Bang Theory star posted, Tom moved in with her and brought along his German Shepherd, Blue.

However, Shirley got violent with Blue around and the inability to have the dogs gel together led to this difficult decision for Cuoco.

Kelly Cuoco said in the video:

"I started to get a lot of questions as to where she was because it's very unlike me to just stop posting about a dog that I've had since she was 6 weeks old,...The love of my life came into my life, Tom—who is also a mega dog lover—moved across the country with his beautiful German Shepherd, Blue, a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, Blue and Shirley started getting into some mega fights. Shirley was determined to kill him."

She continued:

"Shirley had gotten into other dog fights before and it really scared me...I started to get really worried she would hurt other animals. I had to make a very, very difficult decision. She just could not live with us with how she was behaving."

She concluded:

"It was an excruciating decision for me."

Sadly, Shirley passed away from bone cancer recently, leading to this revelation from the Role Play actress. She posted the video earlier today.
