What is Inside Out 2 all about?
The second installment of Disney and Pixar's blockbuster animated film focuses on Riley's coming-of-age story. She returns in Inside Out 2 as well as her five core emotions—Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. However, she's now a newly minted teenager, 13 years old to be exact, and entering puberty brings brand new and more complex emotions.
The movie is set in the summer when Riley is about to enter high school. She's joining hockey camp, but her time there proves challenging. Joining her five core emotions, just as the headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition, is Anxiety. She's the orange ringleader with wide eyes and untamable hair, and with her present, Riley finds herself shrinking to fit in with others while at the camp.
However, more complex emotions follow as Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui join Anxiety in wreaking havoc in Riley's psyche.
What's new with Inside Out 2 on streaming?
The Pixar blockbuster's home release came with bonus content and several deleted scenes, including an alternate opening titled Cold Open. The description reads:
"In this alternate opening, a now 13-year-old Riley awkwardly fumbles her way through an original song she wrote for a school audition."
Other bonus clips include Pool Party, where Riley embarrasses herself by trying too hard to have fun at an older teen's pool party, and Broken Joy, where Joy has a hard time driving the console. There's also a selected scene called Puberty Park, where Joy and other rogue emotions run away from mind worker cops, and Shame Spiral, where Riley and her friends' "Never Have I Ever" game goes a bit too far.
