Reportedly, Wendell Pierce, who played the role of Ryan in T-FAD, is also set to star in the movie. There have been ongoing negotiations to bring back Michael Kelly to reprise his role as CIA station chief, Mike November.

Andrew Bernstein, known for his recent work on Foundation, Ozark, and The Outsider, is joining the team for the upcoming Jack Ryan movie. Bernstein previously worked as the executive producer and director of Jack Ryan season 2 and will now direct the movie.

Aaron Robin is working on the movie's storyline and had earlier penned the script for Jack Ryan season 4. He is also serving as co-executive producer of the Jack Ryan movie. The project is a joint production of Paramount Pictures and Skydance. Dana Goldberg and David Ellison are set to serve as the executive producers alongside Carlton Cuse and John Kelly.

In a press release, Amazon MGM Studios gave a peek at the storyline of the Jack Ryan movie:

"Capitalizing on the success of the series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Amazon MGM Studios is developing a new feature film, starring John Krasinski, as the next stage in the evolution of the franchise. Wendell Pierce, who starred alongside Krasinski in the series, will also star. Additionally, series star Michael Kelly is in negotiations to star… The film will be an extension of the Amazon MGM Studios, Paramount Television, and Skydance landmark original series."

In the past few years, John Krasinski has focused primarily on directing, with projects including A Quiet Place, its sequel A Quiet Place Part II, and the recent animated fantasy movie IF, starring Ryan Reynolds.

Before the Amazon Prime series, Jack Ryan was a popular film franchise featuring multiple actors dating back to 1990. Its serial adaptation has become one of the most globally successful series on the streaming service, solidifying Krasinski's status with another widely popular role. The actor, along with Allyson Seeger, will be producing the movie via their production house, Sunday Night. Andrew Form will also serve as the producer.

Michael Peña joined the Jack Ryan universe as a permanent cast member in Season 4 as Domino Chavez, a former Navy SEAL who is working as a CIA operative. He was an executive officer of the Rainbow Six, who had completed successful missions across Iran, Colombia, and the United Kingdom.

In Tom Clancy's books, Chavez was first introduced in Clear and Present Danger in 1989. From then on, the character has appeared in 22 Tom Clancy novels. As reported by Deadline on May 9, 2022, Michael Peña is likely to have an individual spin-off, starring Domino Chavez as the central character.

In a conversation with Collider, published on June 27, 2023, when asked about the possibility of an individual spin-off, the actor replied:

“It’s up to the fans and up to Amazon. There are a lot of people that have to do certain things, but if people like it, maybe they’ll chime in and say, like, ‘Hey, we want some more!’ So, you know, we leave it in their hands.”

During its final season, Jack Ryan, the action thriller series, received a total of 1.15 billion minutes in the Nielsen ratings. This raises more anticipation on what the new Jack Ryan movie beholds for viewers and how John Krasinski's addition will aid in the development of this project.

All four seasons of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan are available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
