It's that time of year again when word concerning a sequel to National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation starts to circulate again. The latest speculation originates from the Facebook page Yoda Bby Aby, which had, on various occasions in the past, fueled theories about a sequel to the film that were later proven to be false.
As with previous instances when the page claimed that a sequel was in the works, this time too the news is untrue. Yoda Bby Aby is a page known for posting satire and fake news, so it can be confirmed that there will be no 'Christmas Vacation Redux,' which is the suggested title for the National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation sequel.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is not getting a sequel
On November 28, 2024, the Facebook page Yoda Bby Aby wrote a post that sent fans of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation into a frenzy. The post mentioned that the widely popular Christmas movie will be receiving a sequel titled Christmas Vacation Redux and it will be released on Amazon Prime Video in December.
The post also loosely mentioned the plot of the upcoming movie along with the people who would feature in it. It read:
"Get ready for holiday chaos like never before in National Lampoon Christmas Vacation Redux. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo return as the Griswolds, now retired and determined to celebrate their first Christmas of freedom until the whole gang shows up to turn their quiet plans into pure pandemonium."
The post also came with a promise to National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation fans that the upcoming movie will be even more entertaining than the original one. It mentioned:
"Streaming this December on Amazon Prime Video, it’s the reunion you’ve been waiting for with twice the laughs and all the holiday spirit."
Fans of the film were quick to tag their close ones in the post as well as circulate it among their social circles. However, they were heartbroken when they found that the news concerning National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Redux was untrue. As previously mentioned, Yoda Bby Aby on Facebook is a satirical page. The page's bio also mentions the same. It reads:
"I'm just here to eat frogs, lift rocks and be satirical. The page is 100% satire and fake news."
