The 2024 rendition of the movie maintains a storyline that is reminiscent of the original. However, in this movie, compared to its previous version, greater focus will be put on the psychological elements rather than the horror elements.
Additionally, the identities of the characters will be going through minor changes in the recent film. While the first movie focusing on a Danish and a Dutch couple, the upcoming one will center around an American and a British couple. The premise of the new film will however remain intact in its original form.
The official synopsis for the upcoming film reads:
"When an American family is invited to spend the weekend at the idyllic country estate of a charming British family they befriended on vacation, what begins as a dream holiday soon warps into a snarled psychological nightmare."
