The Rebel Moon sequel sees our heroes—Kora, Gunnar, General Titus, Nemesis, Tarak, and Milius—return to Veldt following their seeming victory over Admiral Atticus Noble in Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire.

However, Kora harbors a dark secret—she was involved in the assassination of the royal family, manipulated by her adoptive father, Regent Balisarius. After our protagonists emerge victorious over the Imperium’s forces, General Titus reveals that Princess Issa survived the assassination.

This assuages Kora's guilt and gives her the determination to seek redemption—setting up the stage for a potential Rebel Moon - Part Three if Netflix green lights the project.

Princess Issa is alive in Rebel Moon

In Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver, Kora (Sofia Boutella) shares with Gunnar that under the coercion of her adoptive father, Balisarius, she had fired the fatal shot at Princess Issa (Stella Grace Fitzgerald), a deed that haunted her and led to her starting over on Veldt.

Princess Issa's remarkable healing abilities had begun to influence Motherworld's king, prompting efforts to steer the Imperium towards a more peaceful and benevolent path than one of continuous conquest.

Behind the façade of celebrating the final Dreadnought, the elites of the Imperium assassinated the royal family, ensuring the continued expansion. Balisarius manipulated Arthelais (Kora’s previous name), coercing her to betray the young princess she had sworn to protect.

With the king's demise, Balisarius (Fra Fee) and his cohorts seized control of the Imperium, falsely implicating Kora in the murders. Per the USA Today, Snyder said:

"She definitely got shot, but she's kind of a space Jesus. It's a mythological thing."

Princess Issa was seen to possess supernatural abilities, including the power to restore life—leading many to speculate it might be the reason she survived, as General Titus (Djimon Hounsou) reveals to Kora at the end of the movie.

Which characters die in Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver?

While Ray Fisher’s Darien Bloodaxe and Charlie Hunnam’s Kai met their ends in Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire, Part Two saw many more characters meet their demise in the Veldt rebellion. Doona Bae’s Nemesis held her own even when outnumbered by enemies, even after losing one of her mechanical arms in battle.

But one managed to wound her mortally. She died after saving the Veldt farmer kid she had bonded with previously. Admiral Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein) also met his end in this movie after his crippling defeat and subsequent rejuvenation in the last one.

Noble had the upper hand in the rematch, but a wounded Gunnar managed to thrust his sword through Noble. Kora quickly closed the cargo door through Noble's chest and then decapitated him. Michiel Huisman’s Gunnar succumbed to his wounds, dying in Kora's arms right after the victory was secured.

Will there be more Rebel Moon movies?

Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver's conclusion hints at more to come, as the final scene unveils Princess Issa's survival, prompting Kora and her allies to embark on a new quest to locate her.

Additionally, the lingering presence of Regent Balisarius sets the stage for an inevitable confrontation between him and the rebels. In a recent interview with RadioTimes, director Zack Snyder said:

"I guess four makes sense. Four or six movies, depending... I guess it's whether or not every time we make one of these movies we make two, that's the question.”

He continued:

"We absolutely have the story all set, we did all that work. We wrote a treatment for the movie so we'll see how we go ahead."
