What is The Wild Robot is all about?
The Wild Robot is a heartwarming and thrilling animated film that explores themes of survival, connection, and sacrifice. The story begins when a storm causes a Universal Dynamics cargo ship to lose ROZZUM robots, which then are washed ashore on an uninhabited island. Only one unit, ROZZUM 7134, nicknamed Roz, survives. Accidentally activated by wildlife, Roz embarks on a journey to find her place among the island’s animals.
Initially feared and misunderstood, Roz learns the language of the animals and strives to help them, despite numerous challenges. After accidentally crashing a goose nest, Roz takes responsibility for the lone surviving egg, raising the gosling, Brightbill, as her own. Their bond grows as Roz teaches Brightbill essential survival skills, including flying. However, the past threatens their relationship when Brightbill learns of Roz’s role in his family’s death.
As danger looms in the form of Universal Dynamics’ retrieval robots, Roz and the island animals unite to protect their home. All these lead to the exciting final scene where Roz loses her freedom so that the rest of the island can be protected. The movie, with its action-filled sequences and storylines, are sure to captivate the audience.
