On September 29, 2024, Blake Lively promoted her haircare brand, Blake Brown Beauty, on Instagram. In the post, she wore a brown overcoat, showing off her hair, with a playful caption joking about not knowing what a hairbrush or shirt is.

Since launching the brand on August 4, 2024, Blake has been actively promoting it, especially during her It Ends With Us promotions. Her latest campaign caught a lot of attention, with many users sharing their thoughts on X.

One of the internet users addressed her famous character of Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl and tweeted:

"It’s giving Serena after a bender"
"Just matty, split end, lack luster hair" an X user commented on Blake's hair in the campaign.
"Unless she did her hair and then got stranded on a forest island for a month and took these immediately upon rescue", another X user stated.
"young gen z simply can’t comprehend the hold that bed head hair had on the culture in 2012 (the year blake lively is still stuck in)", an internet user mentioned.

Moreover, some internet users also claimed that Blake's hair looks better normally and that she doesn't style them right for the campaigns:

"she’s got amazing hair too, in every normal photo her hair looks so much better but when it comes to her campaign photo it’s a whole nother story. it’s like she doesn’t brush it or something", an X user said.
"I swear on every normal photo her hair looks better", another X user commented.

"No experience can define you, you define you" - Blake Lively talks about film character after backlash for brand promotion

Blake Lively's recent post on social media comes after the actress took a break from all social media platforms amid the controversy and backlash that followed her It Ends With Us promotions. When Blake began promoting the movie based on domestic violence in August 2024, the film's co-lead and director Justin Baldoni was apparently promoting the movie separately which gave rise to speculations of a feud between the two.

As per Cinema Blend, there were rumors of Justin and Blake disagreeing on an alternate cut of the film in the post-production process. Additionally, Lively mentioned on-set disagreements in her interviews but without mentioning anyone in particular.

Since Blake Lively was also promoting her haircare line and sparkling cocktail brand Betty Booze alongside her movie, social media users dubbed the actress "tone deaf". Amidst the backlash, old interviews of the actress began to resurface which led to a narrative of Blake giving inappropriate responses to questions asked during interviews.

However, in an attempt to steer the narrative in another direction, Blake Lively shared a snippet of her interview from the London premiere of the film on Instagram stories on August 13, 2024. Talking about her character Lily Bloom, the actress mentioned:

"This movie covers domestic violence but what's important about this film is that she is not just a survivor and she's not just a victim. And while those are huge things to be, they're not her identity. She defines herself and I think that's deeply empowering to remind people that no one else can define you. No experience can define you, you define you."

Moreover, as per The Independent dated August 15, 2024, a journalist shared her interaction with Blake Lively from 2016 stating that the interview made her want to quit her job.

In other news, Blake Lively produced It Ends With Us which has become the highest-grossing box office hit of her career. The actress will be next seen in A Simple Favor 2 alongside Anna Kendrick.
