Title and Release Date

Rian Johnson, who had expressed his preference for the subtitle A Benoit Blanc Mystery in the past, seems to be sticking with the Knives Out branding for Knives Out season 3.

Johnson recently on his social media account revealed that the upcoming sequel of Knives Out will be titled Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

As for the release date of Knives Out season 3, fans will need to keep some patience. Rian Johnson's video announcement on Instagram speculates the release of the new season sometime in 2025.

While an exact date for the released of Knives Out season 3 hasn’t been confirmed, it’s clear that the production will be starting anytime soon. Johnson hinted at the imminent start of production with a post in late May 2024:

“We’re about to go into production on it and I AM SLIGHTLY EXCITED.”

The new mystery of Knives Out season 3 will see Daniel Craig return as the iconic Benoit Blanc.

Alongside him, several famous faces have been confirmed. Josh O’Connor, known for his roles in Challengers and The Crown, Cailee Spaeny, who recently starred in Priscilla and Civil War, and Andrew Scott, famed for his performances in All of Us, Strangers, and Fleabag, have joined the cast.

Given the star-studded nature of the previous films, more casting announcements are expected in the coming days.

Rian Johnson will again be the sailor of this ship, serving as both the writer and director. He will also produce the film alongside his partner Ram Bergman through their production company, T-Street Pictures.
