Well not everyone gets to leave behind their life as a construction worker to embark on a secret mission with a high school sweetheart, and that’s precisely what The Union is all about.
Starring Mark Wahlberg, Halle Berry, and J.K. Simmons, the film features a stellar cast that enhances its thrilling narrative, making the audience utterly impatient for all the action-packed moments to unfold.
The Union was announced in May 2020, where it was initially titled Our Man From Jersey. Although the name was changed later, the film was shot in the same eponymous location, including other place that includes Slovenia, Piran, and London. Follow along with the article to learn more about the film.
The Union will be released on August 16, 2024
Mark Wahlberg & Halle Berry’s The Union will be making its global debut on August 16, 2024. The film will be helmed by Julian Farino, who is known for directing several episodes of HBO’s Entourage, Ballers, Bob & Rose 2001, and many more TV shows and films.
Joe Barton and David Guggenheimm were announced to write the screenplay for The Union. As mentioned above, the filming took place in several locations and fortunately, there was no obstruction during the production.
However, in May 2022, while shooting in Tottenham Street and Whitefield Street of Fitzrovia, London, England, the production caused a slight controversy with the noise and air pollution, leading the company to issue an apology to the locals.
Sam Pickering Pickering of Crumpet Productions Ltd., the location manager, thanked the locals for their patience during the filming and later dropped apology letters for the residents in that area. Here’s what the company wrote:
“We appreciate and acknowledge the disruption caused by our filming was ultimately greater than had been anticipated or expressed in our notifications and engagement with the community and for that, we would like to apologise,” wrote Pickering of Crumpet Productions Ltd.
The letter further reads:
“It was certainly never our intention to mislead in this matter. We also recognise our notifications to the neighbourhood should have been made further in advance of our filming and preparation dates.
It ends with:
“We have been working with Camden Film Office to make sure lessons are learnt for the future. Our experiences and feedback will inform future filming approval processes for large film crews in this area as well as our own future activity in the borough of Camden.”
