Rebel Ridge is an acclaimed action thriller that premiered on Netflix on September 6, 2024. It is directed by Jeremy Saulnier, who also produced, edited, and wrote the screenplay. Other producers include Anish Savjani, Neil Kopp, and Vincent Savino.

Aaron Pierre stars as the protagonist, Terry Richmond, who encounters a corrupt police force in the town of Shelby Springs while trying to bail out his cousin, Mike Simmons. He is joined by a supporting cast featuring Don Johnson, AnnaSophia Robb, David Denman, and others.

The synopsis of Rebel Ridge, as per Netflix, reads:

"A former Marine confronts corruption in a small town when local law enforcement unjustly seizes the bag of cash he needs to post his cousin's bail."

Antoine Fuqua's film Shooter is inspired by Stephen Hunter's 1993 novel, Point of Impact. The story centers on a former Marine Corps sniper, Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg), falsely accused of assassinating the President of the United States. Swagger must race against time to find the real culprits and prove his innocence.

The film's supporting cast includes Danny Glover, Kate Mara, Michael Peña, and Elias Koteas, among others. If viewers loved the adrenaline-pumping drama of Rebel Ridge, then following it up with Shooter can make for an equally satisfying experience.

Kevin Bray's vigilante action thriller is a remake of the eponymous 1973 film starring Joe Don Baker. In the 2004 version, Dwayne Johnson plays the former US Army Special Forces officer, Chris Vaughn. He returns to his hometown in Kitsap County, Washington, to find a place run down by drugs, crimes, and corruption. He then decides to become the sheriff and clean up his beloved town.

Johnny Knoxville, Neal McDonough, Ashley Scott, and others star in this film in supporting roles. Rebel Ridge and Walking Tall share a similar premise wherein the protagonist is seen fighting against a corrupt police system alone.

The Australian black ops mercenary Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) is hired to rescue the kidnapped son of an Indian drug lord, Ovi Mahajan Sr. (Pankaj Tripathi). His mission leads him to Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he gets double-crossed and overcomes a series of near-fatal attacks while fulfilling his mission.

Viewers who loved the high-octane drama of Rebel Ridge will enjoy Extraction just as much.

Jack Reacher is written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie and is based on One Shot, Lee Child's 2005 novel. The action thriller features Tom Cruise as the titular character, an ex-military criminal investigator working on a homicide case involving the trained military sniper, James Mark Barr.

While initially thinking Barr is guilty, Jack soon realizes that he is being framed and the situation is nothing like it seems.

Tom Cruise stars alongside Rosamund Pike, Werner Herzog, David Oyelowo, Richard Jenkins, etc., in the film. Like Rebel Ridge, this film features amazing plot twists that will keep viewers guessing till the very end.

The box office hit Mad Max: Fury Road is the fourth film in the Mad Max franchise. George Miller directed and produced the film and wrote the screenplay with Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris.

The post-apocalyptic film is set in a desert wasteland, where the tyrannical Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) rules over survivors following the collapse of civilization. In this barren world, water and petrol are valuable commodities. The former captive, Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), joins Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) to defeat the warlord by outrunning him in their heavily armored truck, the War Rig, in a deadly high-speed chase.

The film also stars Nicholas Hoult, Zoë Kravitz, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Riley Keough, Courtney Eaton, and Abbey Lee in supporting roles. Although Mad Max: Fury Road is different from Rebel Ridge, both films take viewers on an adrenaline rush with action-packed sequences.
