Space Cadet is a romantic comedy movie that premiered on July 4, 2024, and is distributed by Amazon MGM Studios. It was written and directed by Liz W. Garcia, who received massive appreciation for her work such as One Percent More Humid (2017) and Purple Hearts (2022).
Garcia brings a different approach to space movies with Space Cadet. The movie narrates the story of Res Simpson, a Florida party girl, played by Emma Roberts, who dreams of becoming an astronaut but has no idea about the responsibilities that come with it.
She forges a false application for the NASA space program and gets selected. Though other candidates have better resumes and experiences, she has the smartness and energy to reach the stars. Space Cadet is a comforting watch that adds a humorous dimension to space movies.
