Never Let Go: Full list of cast

Never Let Go is an upcoming survival horror film, set to be released by Lionsgate theatrically on September 20, 2024. Alexandre Aja directs the movie, based on a script by Kevin Coughlin and Ran Grassby. Considering Aja's previous horror works, including The Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors, and Horns, there has been a certain degree of expectation rising around the movie.

The story revolves around a mother and her twin sons, who are haunted by an evil spirit for years. Living in a cabin by the woods, the family is tied together by three ropes that the mother believes can only keep them safe. However, their sacred bond is broken when one of the sons starts questioning their beliefs and the presence of evil.

Never Let Go is embellished with a very talented cast that includes Halle Berry, Anthony B. Jenkins, Percy Daggs IV, Stephanis Lavigne, Matthew Kevin Anderson, Christin Park, Mila Morgan, William Catlett, Georges Gracieuse, and Cadence Compton.

1) Halle Berry as Momma

Halle Berry plays the role of the mother of the two sons and is simply identified as Mommy. She has isolated her sons from the entire world into an old timber cabin, built by her father. She believes that only the rope can keep the boys safe from evil. One touch without the rope on is all it takes for them to get killed.

Berry is a Primetime Emmy and Golden Globes-winning actress who first received recognition playing the role of Angela Lewis in the 1992 romantic film Boomerang. Berry became the first African-American woman to win an Academy Award for Best Actress playing the role of a struggling widow in the rural south in Monster's Ball (2001).

Some of Berry's major works include Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (1999), Swordfish (2001), Catwoman (2004), Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017), and the X-Men franchise. Bruised (2020), John Wick: Chapter 3, The Union (2024), and Never Let Me (2024) are some of her recent films.

2) Anthony B. Jenkins as Samuel

Anthony B. Jenkins plays the role of Samuel, one of the two sons. While searching for food in the woods, he meets an accident. Samuel slips from a slope, gets his ankle cracked, and the rope is broken. This is when he first realizes the presence of evil. Unlike his brother, Samuel has complete faith in his mother's words that the world has ended and its evil out there in the woods.

Anthony is a child actor who has appeared in another horror film called The Deliverance (2024). His other works include David Makes Man (2019), The Big Leap (2021), The Wonder Years (2022), Roswell, New Mexico (2022), and Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist (2024).

3) Percy Daggs IV as Nolan

Percy Daggs IV plays the role of Nolan, the son who shares contrasting views with his mother. Mommy is the only person who can see the evil, and the boys just have to take her word. Nolan still believes that there is civilization still out there, which gets concrete when he sees a passing hiker.

Percy Daggs IV is known for his work in television series including Undone (2019), Cinema Toast (2021), Solos (2021), and The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey (2022).

4) Stephanie Lavigne as The Evil

Stephanie Lavigne takes up the role of the evil in the movie. According to Mommy, she stays in the woods and can take many forms. She can take the shape of a snake or turn into a zombie. Mommy tells the kids that the devil wants to get inside their heads and make them kill each other.

Lavigne is a Canadian actress and model who is trained in ballet and jazz. Some of her major screen appearances include Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010), Supergirl (2016), Legion (2017), A Series of Unfortunate Events (2018), The Magicians (2019), Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2019), The Imperfects (2022), and Heretic (2024).
